Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro in February 2019 in and the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage variant of Note 7 Pro went on sale today for the first time. Both the smartphones witnessed a huge demand and the company has conducted several sales every week so far. Today, Xiaomi India has announced that it has surpassed 1 Million or 10 lakh Units of Redmi Note 7 Series Sale.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro 6GB RAM, 128GB storage version to go on sale in India from April 10

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in India in February. The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version priced at Rs. 13,999 went on sale starting from March 13, now the company has finally announced that the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version will go on sale starting from tomorrow, April 10th on Flipkart and Mi.com at Rs. 16,999.

Researcher finds URL spoofing vulnerability on Mi browser and Mint Browser, Mi Security team acknowledges the issue

Arif Khan, an independent security researcher has recently discovered an issue on Xiaomi Browsers including Mi Browser and recently launched Mint Browser. The vulnerability (CVE-2019-10875) was found to be present in Global version of these browsers and not on the Chinese version, which as per the researcher might be intentional. Xiaomi drops software support for several devices including Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4

Update — April 5, 2019: Xiaomi has updated the list to clarify that it is the Redmi Note 4 MediaTek version that was launched in China and the Redmi, so the Indian Snapdragon variant that is called Redmi Note 4X in China will likely get updates. The Redmi 4 that has been dropped is also the Chinese version, so the India version was launched as Redmi 4X in China will likely get updates. Xiaomi’s POCO today rolled out new MIUI 10 v10.3.4.0 stable update that finally brings Widevine L1 support to play HD content on Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar, with Netflix support coming soon. The update also brings 4K 60fps recording, New modes for Al camera, Game TurboFace unlock App lock, and several fixes.

Get Android 9.0 Pie on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with Pixel Experience ROM

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was amongst the best selling devices launched in 2017 in India, despite launching in 2017 it was launched with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and was updated to Android 7.0 (Nougat) in August 2017. Redmi Note 4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 mobile platform, the same processor that powers Mi A1 which received Android 9.0 (Pie) update along with Dual 4G VoLTE support couple of months ago. Xiaomi has already announced the list of smartphones eligible for Android Oreo/Pie update, but Xiaomi’s best-seller from 2017 is not included in the list and now we can assume that Redmi Note 4 will not receive any Android update. Xiaomi introduced Pro version of Redmi Note for the first time in India last year along with Redmi Note 5, but Redmi Note 5 was not a significant upgrade from Redmi Note 4 and hence Redmi Note 5 Pro became a preferred choice amongst consumers.
