Sony has started rolling out Android 4.4 (KitKat) update (v20.1.B.0.64) for their Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual budget smartphones, as it promised last month when it rolled out KitKat update for T2 Ultra and T2 Ultra Dual. Sony has scheduled their IFA 2014 press conference for 3rd September. Last year it was scheduled on September 4th, where it announced the Xperia Z1, QX10 and QX100 smartphone camera lenses. Rumors about the Sony Xperia Z3 (D6653) started few weeks back. Earlier this month a screenshot from the smartphone revealed the model number, Snapdragon 801 processor, 1080p display and Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS. Now @evleaks has revealed more details about the smartphone. According to the leak, the smartphone would feature a 5.15-inch 1080p display, 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

Sony introduced the Wireless Charging Cover WCR12 and Wireless Charging Plate WCH10 for the Xperia Z2 back in May. Today online retailer Clove that started taking pre-orders for the WCR12 Wireless Charging Cover soon after the announcement, said that Sony has confirmed them that product will not be coming to market, despite earlier confirmations. Sony started rolling out Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Xperia T2 Ultra (v19.1.A.0.473) and its dual SIM variant T2 Ultra Dual (19.1.C.0.116) from yesterday. The new update brings option to move apps to the microSD card in addition to new features. This was not mentioned in the official changelog from Sony.

Google has taken down multiple Google Play Edition devices from the Play Store. Devices like Sony Xperia Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 and HTC One (M7) were taken down from the device section of the Play Store. These handsets along with Samsung Galaxy S4 were out of inventory for some time before they were officially taken down today.
