Samsung just made the much rumored Galaxy Tab 8.9 official at CTIA today and here are some official photos of the Android Honeycomb tablet. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 WiFi Prices Revealed

Samsung’s Omar Khan just outed the prices of the WiFi only versions of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tablet. The Tab 10.1 will hit the market in June and the 8.9 incher is expected in summer. Looks like Samsung is smartly pricing the Tab’s to take on the iPad with the 16GB 10.1 Tab costing the same as the iPad2 while the 8.9 inch Tab costs only $469. Bear in mind that this is only for the Wifi versions.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Photos NEW Design !

Samsung has managed to change the design of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 after MWC. Looks like the company was not happy to release a tablet thicker than the Apple iPad 2 to the market. So what did they do ? They felt that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was inadequate to take on the iPad 2 and they did not stop there. They went and redesigned the whole thing so that it is only 8.6 mm thick and weighs 595g. The earlier model was 10.9mm thick and weighed 599 g. Did Samsung just surprise Apple  ? Samsung’s head of Mobile JK Shin just announced at the Unpacked event at CTIA that the company will be launching 2 new Galaxy Tabs today . This comes as a surprise as we were expecting only one 8.9 inch tablet from the Korean handset maker.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Price drops to Rs.24900 in India

As expected, the Samsung Galaxy Tab too gets a price cut, which is now selling for Rs.24,900 at Flipkart and other online stores in India. Initially the Android tablet was selling for Rs.38,000 when it was first launched, and then was reduced to 28k with the launch of the Apple iPad in India.

At MWC 2011 , we saw an interesting unbranded phone from Samsung for Verizon (model SCH_i510) . The device was simply called the Samsung 4G LTE Phone , but now there are reports that this is indeed the Samsung Stealth V and DROID CHARGE running on Android 2.2 Froyo. It has a unique design , a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Display , 8 MP Camera with 1080p recording. Other features include HDMI out and a 2 MP front facing camera. While we played with the device , it was running on FroYo and it might launch with Gingerbread.

Samsung Galaxy 5 Review: The Small Android Your Non-Geeky Friends Will Love

The story with Android has been quite similar these last few years: manufacturers seem to always be on the run to deliver bigger, faster, better, devices with more specs inside than anyone can humanly memorize. Dual-Core processors, 4.3″ screens, 3D displays, HD video recording… are all interesting, except they target what? maybe 5-10% of the users. The rest, well, they get very confused and somewhat overwhelmed with these features. They want a phone, that’s it. Maybe they want Facebook in there, a camera of sorts, and email would be a nice plus. For those, the Samsung Galaxy 5 is perfect.

The Galaxy 5 is the smartphone brother of the iconic Samsung Corby, a device with a simple design, dedicated keys for calls, quite limited features in terms of camera and other hardware, but it packs Android Eclair 2.1 instead of Samsung’s dumbphone OS. But the question is does this mix work?
