POCO Pop Buds True wireless earbuds launching in India soon
POCO already confirmed that it is working on true wireless earbuds in India. Yesterday POCO GM, C Manmohan posted a Twitter poll with exciting name options — POCO Move Buds, Klip Buds, Pop Buds to POCO Funkz. Today the company has confirmed that POCO Pop Buds got the highest share of votes (42.4% out of a total 21,416 votes), thereby confirming the name of the upcoming product. POCO just announced POCO F2 Pro, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at a global online event as it has promised. It packs a 6.67-inch E3 Super AMOLED screen with 92.7% screen-to-body ratio, 60Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate, and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The company says it has 360° ambient light control with 3 sensors. It is powered by Snapdragon 865, 5G SA/NSA support with Snapdragon X55 Modem, has 3435mm² VC liquid-cooled heat sink, Game Turbo 3.0, 4D vibration when playing games with Z-axis motor and has been certified by TÜV Rheinland for high-performance gaming. It runs Android 10 with MIUI 11, comes with 3D glass back with AG technology, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and Anti-glare matte finish in grey and purple color versions, NFC and Hi-Res audio support. POCO Global launch set for May 12, POCO F2 Pro expected
POCO recently sent out media invites for a global launch event on May 12th in Spain, after the launch of POCO F1. Now it has confirmed that the event will start at 2PM CEST (5:30PM IST) on Tuesday. Google Play’s list of supported devices already revealed that the Redmi K30 Pro and upcoming POCO F2 Pro share the same “lmi” code name, so the POCO F2 Pro should be a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for the global markets. POCO M2 Pro briefly listed on Xiaomi India website, expected to launch soon
POCO Global has been teasing the launch of new smartphone soon, and it is rumoured to be the POCO F2 Pro, a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for the global markets. Today POCO M2 Pro, a new smartphone in the POCO’s M series briefly showed up on the Xiaomi India website with the model number M2003J6CI. Last month XDA findings revealed that Redmi K30 Pro might launch under POCO branding in India and everyone assumed it to be long-awaited POCO F2. Later POCO GM, C Manmohan confirmed that POCO F2 is a different smartphone from Redmi K30 Pro in India. Now Google Play’s list of supported devices reveals that the Redmi K30 Pro and upcoming POCO F2 Pro share the same “lmi” code name. It also reveals that Redmi K30 Pro 5G Zoom Edition will be launched under K30 Pro name in the global markets and it also has codename “Imiinpro” hinting that Redmi K30 Pro series is expected to launch in India. [Update]: In a Zoom video chat session conducted on March 30, Manmohan had confirmed that the company is working on TWS earbuds. POCO X2 gets a Rs. 1000 price hike after increase in GST
Earlier last month, the GST Council in its 39th meeting increased GST rates for several products including mobile phones from 12% to 18% applicable from April 1st, 2020. As announced, mobile brands have increased the prices of their smartphones and earlier today, Apple increased prices of the iPhone lineup. Following that, POCO has also announced that a Rs. 1000 price hike across all variants of the POCO X2 smartphone.
