Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just launched the Redmi Note 9 smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection, is powered MediaTek Helio G85 12nm SoC with up to 6GB of RAM, features 4µm graphite sheet for improved thermal performance and runs Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top. POCO Global has been teasing the launch of new smartphone soon, and it is rumoured to be the POCO F2 Pro, a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for the global markets. Today POCO M2 Pro, a new smartphone in the POCO’s M series briefly showed up on the Xiaomi India website with the model number M2003J6CI. Along with the global launch of Redmi Note 9 Pro the company also introduced the Redmi Note 9 for the global markets, as it had promised. It has a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection, is the first smartphone to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 12nm SoC. It features a 48-megapixel primary rear camera, 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide angle lens, 2-megapixel 2cm macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is also a 13-megapixel camera on the front. Update: April 29, 2020 – Redmi Note 9 press images have surfaced ahead of announcement tomorrow. This shows a punch-hole display, quad rear cameras and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Update: April 28, 2020 – Redmi smartphone with the model number M2003J15SI has received BIS certification, so we can expect it to launch in India as Redmi Note 9 soon, and it will be introduced for the European market on April 30th. A new Redmi smartphone with the model number M2003J15SC has been certified by TENAA in China, which is said to be launched as Redmi Note 9. This shows a punch-hole display with a 13-megapixel camera in the top left corner compared to top centre in the Redmi Note 9 Pro series. Even the fingerprint sensor location has been changed from side to back, however this still has a 48-megapixel quad rear camera arrangement with flash moved to the right side of the camera module.
