POCO has launched POCO M4 Pro 5G, the company’s latest 5G smartphone in India, as it had announced. The phone was introduced in the global markets back in November, and has almost similar specifications as the Redmi Note 11T 5G that was launched last year. This includes a 6.6-inch FHD+ screen with 50Hz, 60Hz and 90Hz dynamic switch, 16MP front camera inside the punch-hole, Dimensity 810 SoC with support for 13 5G SA/NSA bands, up to 8GB of RAM along with Turbo RAM capability extending the device RAM up to 11GB. After teasers, POCO has confirmed the launch of POCO M4 Pro 5G in India on February 15th. This was introduced in the global markets back in the November last year, and has almost similar specifications as the Redmi Note 11T 5G that is available in India starting at Rs. 16,999. POCO launched the POCO M2 Pro handset last year in India. The POCO M2 Pro shares a lot in common with the Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro, and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. All these devices came preloaded with Android 10, and have already been updated to Android 11 based MIUI 12. It’s not clear if Xiaomi and POCO have plans to upgrade these devices to Android 12 based MIUI.
Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Update for the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, and Redmi 9 Prime in India. Redmi 9 Prime’s POCO counterpart POCO M2 is also receiving the same update in India. MIUI 12.5 Enhanced update also brings November 2021 Android security patch to Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, Redmi 9 Prime, and POCO M2. MIUI 12.5 Enhanced comes with features like Focused Algorithm, Atomized Memory, Liquid Storage, Smart Balance, and also lets users Uninstall most of the system apps.
POCO launched the POCO X3 smartphone in India back in September 2020 running MIUI 12.0 Global Stable on top of Android 10. MIUI 12 comes with an all-new design and animations along with new features such as Super Wallpapers, Floating Window, New Control Center, Enhanced Privacy Protection features such as Interceptor, Flare, Hidden Mask Mode, and more. Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched the POCO F1 smartphone in India back in August 2018 running MIUI 9.6 Global Stable on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo). POCO F1 currently runs Android 10 based MIUI 11, and is confirmed to get MIUI 12 in the coming months. Xiaomi doesn’t follow any fixed update frequency for the MIUI Global Stable ROM but on average, the Global Stable ROM is updated once in 20-40 days. It has a 6.6-inch FHD+ screen with 50Hz, 50Hz and 90Hz dynamic switch, has a 16MP front camera inside the punch-hole, is powered by Dimensity 810 SoC with support for 13 5G SA/NSA bands, up to 6GB of RAM and dynamic RAM expansion feature.
