Apple to sell Refurbished iPhone 4 in India at just Rs.22500

Looks like finally India is in Apple’s radar.  The company launched the iPhone 4 pretty late in India but then it also launched a cheaper version of the 3GS at around Rs.19000. As you might know , the iPhone 4S is launching in India in a matter of days on Airtel and Aircel and now there is news that Apple might start selling a refurbished iPhone 4 in India for Rs.22500 according to BGR.in. Refurbished products or open box items are pretty common in the United States and many companies including Apple offer a discount on such products compared to brand new products. While some might confuse a refurb with a stinking , used , damaged product it is not. Refurbs are basically products which have visited the factory or repair center for some defect which is now fixed. It can range from a cosmetic defect to a manufacturing flaw.But Apple still offers 1 year warranty on such products from the date of purchase. RIM announces BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 smartphones


RIM (Research in Motion) has announced 2 new smartphones, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the BlackBerry Curve 9380. These phones run on the latest BlackBerry 7 OS. The Bold 9790 comes high resolution touch display and a keyboard. The BlackBerry Curve 9380 is the first-ever BlackBerry Curve smartphone with a touch display. LG Optimus 3D getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread update this month


LG has announced that the LG Optimus 3D would be receiving the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) starting the end of November. Siri encryption broken down , Android port still not likely

Developers at iPhone development house Applidium have done a thorough investigation into the security encryption behind Siri and have worked out a way to get it running on non – iPhone devices as well ! Now before you jump to conclusions, it is important to note that a valid iPhone 4S identification string is needed to authenticate which might work out for a few test situations but would likely result in a ban if thousands of requests were sent.

RIM’s first BBX phone BlackBerry London expected in Q3 2012

RIM’s first BBX smartphone might launch in Q3 2012 dubbed as BlackBerry London. The Verge got hold of a dummy device and the BGR that has confirmed from their source that it is expected in Q3 2012. They also say that the BlackBerry Colt that looked like smaller PlayBook that was leaked earlier was scrapped in favor of the new BBX device BlackBerry London. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE coming to AT&T on November 20 for $479.99

AT&T has announced their second LTE tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 for their customers. They would also launch the 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) in 6 new markets (Charlotte, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, and San Juan, Puerto Rico) on November 20. HTC to unveil Quad-Core Tegra 3 Android Tablet at MWC 2012

HTC to unveil their first Quad-Core Tegra 3 Android tablet at MWC 2012, according to a Chinese Newspaper report. Last week Nvidia unveiled the world’s first Quad-Core Tegra 3 processor for tablets and mobile phones. The new Quad-Core Tegra 3 CPU is said to offer PC-class performance levels, better battery life and better mobile experiences (Better web experience, faster applications and multitasking) in tablets and mobile phones. Nokia 700 goes on sale in India


The Nokia 700 is now available for purchase in India from the online retailer Flipkart. Nokia launched the Nokia 600, 700 and 701 in India this September and Nokia 701 is already available in the market. Nokia Lumia 800 and 710 Windows Phone devices coming in mid-December to India

Nokia and Microsoft has unveiled the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710, Nokia’s first Window Phone devices in India. Both the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710 were unveiled at the Nokia World 2011 in London. The Nokia Lumia 800 has a unibody design and comes with a 3.7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack AMOLED display. The Nokia Lumia 700 comes with a 3.7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack TFT display. Both these devices are powered by 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Scorpion CPU and runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) OS. Nokia Asha Phones

Back at Nokia World last month , the company launched the Asha range of phones which means hope in Hindi. The company is calling it an ‘aspirational’ range of phones for the next billion. 4 new phones were launched under this banner – 200 , 201 , 300 and 303 . 3 of these phones will be shipping in 2011 and 1 in early next year. Looks like Nokia is trying to make a comeback in the low-end category which is now dominated by the likes of Micromax, Karbonn, Spice and similar vendors.

Unlocked Apple iPhone 4S now shipping from Apple Store in the US

When Apple launched the Apple iPhone 4S last month , it also announced it’s plans to sell factory unlocked versions in November which could be purchased without the need for a contract. Today , the Apple Store in the US is taking orders for the Unlocked iPhone 4S which starts at US$ 649 for the 16GB , $749 for the 32GB and $849 for the 64GB. Just a reminder that most states in the US charge a sales tax so the final price at the time of check out might be  slightly higher. Airtel launching iPhone 4S in India soon

Like Aircel , Airtel India has also announced on it’s Facebook page about it’s plans to launch the Apple iPhone 4S in India soon. As of now only Airtel and Aircel are the official operators authorized by Apple to sell the iPhone 4 in India. So this news is not very surprising. But then for those of you who have been waiting for the iPhone 4S to launch in India, good news ! We are not sure if Apple will get the pricing right though !

Aircel launching the Apple iPhone 4S soon in India

Aircel India just announced on it’s official Facebook page earlier today that it is bringing the Apple iPhone 4S to India soon. The company would be sharing more details about the launch soon. There are no details about the pricing or the plans but expect it to be similar to the iPhone 4 Pricing with a slight premium.
