Sony Xperia ZL with 5-inch 1080p display, 1.5 GHz quad-core processor announced

Sony has announced Xperia ZL at CES 2013. This is a variant of the Xperia Z for select markets, and packs in similar features as the Xperia Z including a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Reality display with mobile Bravia Engine 2, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with Adreno 320 GPU and a 13MP camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and video. It is not water or dust resistant like the Xperia Z and doesn’t have a glass back, but comes with a glowing LED indicator below the display. It comes with PlayStation Mobile support. Sony has finally announced the Xperia Z, their latest flagship at CES 2013. It has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Reality display with mobile Bravia Engine 2 and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU. It has a 13MP camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and video. It has IP55 and IP57 ratings for dust and water resistance and has PlayStation Mobile support. LG demos Panorama Note for Optimus Vu 2 at CES, coming to select Optimus devices in 2013

LG has announced that they would demonstrate Panorama Note, a new feature for the Optimus Vu 2 at CES 2013. The Panorama Note would let uses create extra wide 3:1 ratio memos and drawings directly on smartphone displays. The Wide 3:1 ratio image provides free hand drawing or jotting notes easy. LG Optimus devices already have Q memo to jot quick note, but the Panorama Note feature has 5.8 times zooming capability, easy navigation both horizontally and vertically, and mini map to make large notes. Intel introduces Atom Z2420 for emerging markets, Lava announced as the partner

Intel just unveiled its new SoC platform for value smartphones in emerging markets. It is codenamed the Atom Z2420, and it directly aimed at the ever burgeoning mid range smartphone market that craves for powerful hardware. And it looks like Intel might have just the solution for value smartphones, yes, that’s what they call mid range devices now. The platform was unveiled today along with a reference device with a 3.5 inch screen, 5 megapixel camera that can shoot 7 frames per second and 1080p full HD video.

Zen Ultraphone U4 Dual SIM Android phone with 4.3-inch display launched for Rs. 6499

Zen Mobiles has launched Ultraphone U4, successor of the Ultraphone U1. It has a 4.3-inch (800 × 480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, but most of the specifications are similar to the Ultraphone U4, including a Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, 1 GHz processor and 2G / GRPS support. It comes with a 3.2MP camera with flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes pre-loaded with apps such as Facebook, twitter and opera mini. NVIDIA unveils Tegra 4 with quad-core A15 CPU, 72 GPU Cores

NVIDIA has announced Tegra 4 processor for smartphones and tablets that has 72 GPUs cores and 4 ARM A15 CPU cores at CES 2013. It also comes with an optional 4G LTE chipset. NVIDIA is calling it the fastest mobile processor in the world. The Tegra 4 tablet takes 24 seconds to load 25 unique web pages, twice faster than the Nexus 10 that has a dual-core A15 CPU. The Tegra 4 slide leaked last month revealing the features. Google Nexus 4 vs Nokia Lumia 920 #BOTF12 Round 2

The first battle of the Round 2 just got over, with the Nokia 808 PureView yet again coming out on top. While one PureView is now ready for the final battle, the other one is now locked into a battle of platforms with the pure Google device that slaughtered the iPhone 5 in its previous encounter. Black and Red Samsung Galaxy S3 launched in Korea

Samsung has launched the Sapphire Black and Garnet Red Galaxy S3 in Korea. The Garnet Red version of the Galaxy S3 went on sale in India last year. The Galaxy S3 is already available in Marble White and Pebble Blue colors, and Samsung launched Martian Pink Galaxy S3 in Korea last September. Sony Xperia Z new images surface

New images of Sony Xperia Z (C660X Yuga) has surfaced online. These images look like screencasts from a promotional video. This reveals that the smartphone would come with a Full HD Reality display with Bravia Engine 2, 13MP Exmor RS camera, HDR mode for Videos, OptiContrast Panel for high contrast and natural colours and a Skeleton frame structure. Byond Mi-book Mi7 with 3G, Voice calling, Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 11499

Byond Tech has launched Mi-book Mi7, the company’s first 7-inch tablet with 3G support and voice calling features. Byond launched Mi-book Mi5 , a 7-inch tablet last year with 2G voice calling support last year, but the Mi-book Mi7 has a better 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive 5-point multi-touch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and comes with a 2MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera. It also comes pre-loaded with office suite.

LG Optimus G vs Nokia 808 PureView #BOTF12 Round 2

After a resounding victory for the Nexus 4 over the Apple iPhone 5, here comes the first battle of the penultimate round of Battle of the flagships 2012. After the round 1, four devices have emerged as winners, two from one sided battles and the other two from fierce neck to neck battles. The ones from the fierce neck to neck battle have been chosen as the first candidates for this battle. Yes, LG Optimus G won by a narrow 30 votes vs the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Nokia 808 PureView won against the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 by a even narrower 20 votes. To keep it fair, we have been running all the polls for exactly 48 hours, making sure they are to the point. With that said, lets dive into the battle between the LG Optimus G vs Nokia 808 PureView!

iOS 7 to be announced between March/April and released June/July?

Earlier this week, TheNextWeb reported that one iOS app developer had already seen references to the next iPhone and iOS 7 in their app logs. Now, sources tell FoneArena that iOS 7 will be revealed during a media event sometime between March and April. This event will give a sneak peek of the upcoming major version of their mobile operating system. The company will also make iOS 7 available to the public between June/July.

In the past, Apple has held media events during these months for iOS. iOS 4 was announced on April 9th 2010 and was released to the public on June 21st 2010. Last year, Apple first announced iOS 6 at WWDC 2012 in June. In September, iOS 6 was made available to the public.

Last October, Apple fired Scott Forstall, and put Jonathan Ive, senior vice president of industrial design, in charge of leading all Apple’s “human interface”, including software. No details regarding the features of iOS 7 have leaked yet, but we can expect Ive to make his presence felt on iOS.

Videocon has officially launched the VT10 10-inch Android Jelly Bean tablet in India. It went on sale from online retailers Snapdeal and HomeShop18 last week. It has a 10-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) capacitive multi-touch IPS display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2MP Front Camera and a 2MP Rear Camera. Android 4.1.2 update rolling out for Galaxy Camera

Delivering on their promise of providing Android 4.1.2 for the Galaxy Camera, Samsung has today flipped the switch for the update and are pushing it to devices around the world. Our own unit just received the update over the air. Users shouldn’t expect too much in terms of new features from the update which mostly contains bug fixes.
