Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016), it’s new selfie-focused smartphones and successors of last year’s Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones in China. Xiaomi introduced Redmi 3 earlier this year, after the recent certification, Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi 3 Pro with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Other specifications remain the same, including a 5-inch HD screen, Octa-Core Snapdragon 616 SoC, MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus of just 0.1 second and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has also introduced a new rice cooker under the Mi Ecosystem with support for cloud connectivity since the cooker has built-in WiFi 802.11n. Motorola has started rolling out Android 6.0.1 update for the Moto G (3rd Gen) smartphone in India, soon after rolling out the update for Moto X Play in the country. Motorola rolled out the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for the smartphone earlier this year. The changelog is same as the Moto X Play that brings back camera shutter tone switch to turn off and on the sound of the camera shutter and also launch the camera by double-pressing the power button, but the changelog doesn’t mention support for Unicode 8.0 emojis. Update: OPPO has shared a teaser in Indonesia, so it will likely launch the R9 as F1 Plus in India, as it had promised earlier this year at the F1 launch event.
OPPO has sent out invites for the launch of R9, its flagship selfie-focused smartphone in India on April 5th. Even though the invite just says it will be a camera phone, OPPO’s teasers clear indicate that it is indeed the R9 that is coming next week. It is also expected to launch the R9 Plus along with the R9 that also has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. Both these that were introduced in China earlier this month have a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button that can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds.
