Google Earth Timelapse shows how our planet has changed in 37 years

Ever since it was introduced, Google Earth has been a fascinating piece of software that allowed anyone to view images of the earth’s surface. Google One app receives Mobile Application Profile certification from ioXt

Google rolls out Lens functionality for desktop web, uses OCR to recognise text

Google Lens, an image recognition technology developed by Google, is coming to Google Photos on the desktop web, as per the latest report. With this, Google Photos will be able to identify text through the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality of Lens on the web. Google Pixel 6 may feature custom-made “Whitechapel” processor

Google may soon join Apple, Samsung and HUAWEI as a smartphone manufacturer who uses their own custom-made SoCs to power their smartphones. According to a leaked document, Google is reportedly developing a custom-chip called “GS101”, codenamed “Whitechapel”, that may power the upcoming Pixel smartphones in 2021.

Google reduces Play Store service fee to 15% for developers earning less than $1 million

Google has announced that they are reducing the service fee that they charge for developers who sell in-app digital goods and services on Play from 30% down to 15%. This discount will be applicable to app developers until the first $1 million they earn that year, after which the fee would return to the standard 30%.

2nd Gen Google Nest Hub smart display with built-in Soli, Sleep sensing feature announced

Google has announced their second generation Nest Hub smart display, after more that two years since they launched the original back in 2018. It features some new technology such as a dedicated on-device machine learning chip, a built-in Soli chip for music controls and sleep tracking, along with improvements over the first gen Nest Hub.

Wear OS by Google will support custom third-party Tiles in upcoming update

Google introduced Tiles into their Wear OS software back in 2019, giving users access to quick functionalities and information such as Goals, Weather, Heart rate and more with just a swipe left.
