Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India back in January this year. After about 10 months of launch, the company has announced a Rs. 1000 permanent price cut for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variants in the country. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite smartphones in India last week. The phones went on sale in the country today exclusively on Amazon.in as well as Mi.com today. After the sale Manu Jain, Group Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India said that the company sold over 1,50,000 units of both the phones across the platforms in the sale in just 3 minutes. After Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai, Xiaomi is all set to open its first Mi Home Store in Pune on November 10th. It will be located at First Floor, Seasons Mall, Magarpatta City. This will be the 10th Mi Home Store in the country after four stores in Bengaluru, one in Gurugram, Noida, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Xiaomi is growing at a phase that no one would have imagined. The company has sold over 10 Million units in October 2017 for the second month in a row. The total shipments of the company now crossed over 70 Million units for the first ten months of this year, thus surpassing the target set for 2017, said Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder, and CEO.

Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Y1, the company’s latest budget smartphone in the new ‘Redmi Y’ series in India, as it had promised. As expected, it is the re-branded Redmi Note 5A smartphone that was introduced in China in August. Xiaomi announced the latest iteration of its android skin on 25th July in an event in China with new features like Smart Assistant, Split Screen and Universal Image Search. MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM started rolling out to Global ROM users on 11th July but many of these features were exclusive to MIUI China ROM till now.
