Sonos has introduced Play and Era 100 SL, two speakers designed to expand the Sonos system. Both deliver room-filling audio and are compatible with other Sonos devices to create a multi-room listening setup. They are tuned with input from the Sonos Soundboard, a group of music and film experts, to maintain the artist’s original sound.
Sonos Play
Sonos Play is designed as a versatile entry point into the Sonos system. It connects over WiFi for grouping across rooms or pairing for stereo, and comes with a Charging Base for home placement. The speaker is portable, with an IP67 waterproof rating, 24-hour battery life, a removable utility loop, and a built-in power bank.
Multiple Sonos Play or Move 2 speakers can be synced over Bluetooth when away from home. Trueplay automatic tuning adapts the sound to the environment. Control options include voice services, Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and the Sonos app. Ongoing software updates and cross-generation compatibility ensure the system can evolve over time.

Sonos Era 100 SL
Era 100 SL is built as a central speaker for the Sonos system. It delivers stereo sound with wide separation and balanced bass. Built without microphones, it focuses solely on listening.
The speaker is expandable: two units can be paired for wider stereo, or it can be used as rear surrounds in a home theater setup. Audio streaming is supported via Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, the Sonos app over WiFi, or line-in connections. The design includes recycled plastic, energy-efficient operation, and FSC-certified recyclable packaging.
