Along with the Asha 501, Nokia also introduced some new gear at the grand event that happened in New Delhi. Amongst the loads of accessories displayed at the event, we spotted some new ones, which includes the Nokia DC-18, a new portable battery pack launched along with the Asha. There was also the BH-118, a mono bluetooth headset with a dock, which looked weird yet useful. The above photo is of the DC-18, of which we have more photos below and the others too.
Lava International has launched the W200 portablet wireless router in India. It creates WIFI hotspot and support up to 32 users. It also has adn inbuilt battery of 1800mAh which enables you to charge mobile devices anytime. It is compatiable with HSDPA/HSUPA/HSPA+,CDMA EVDO Rev A/B USB modems and recognizes ADSL/DHCO and WAN/LAN without any preset profile. The router supports Tata Photon (Huawei EC156) and the MTS Mblaze (AC2746 and AC2787).

BlackBerry Z10 had launched in India with a hefty price tag, and BlackBerry knows that people who buy expensive phones will need complimenting accessories too, and hence came a bunch of audio accessories in India, along with the Z10. We had taken a look at the Mini Stereo Speaker, which was a compact clip-like Bluetooth stereo speaker with auxiliary audio output, and now we are taking a look at the BlackBerry Music Gateway, which partly mimics the auxiliary functionality of the stereo speaker, in a much smaller form factor. A week ago I have received a package with something very cool inside. In the package I have a found a custom-built Nokia Lumia 920 case, made of Plexiglass, built on a GoPro chest harness. It’s probably no secret that I’m the unsportiest person in Austria, so I’ve contacted my friend Gernot Lambeck, a huge downhill biking fan. He agreed to give this a try, and so we met last weekend for some action in a nearby forest. With the OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) built inside the Lumia 920, Nokia promises a great video experience even in difficult situations. Blasting through a forest on a bike would probably be “difficult”, and I was looking forward to see how the 920 handled the abuse.

If we remember right, Google launched the Nexus 4 along with a cool Wireless charger called the Charging Orb, but it never arrived until a couple of weeks back, when it finally came up on the Google Play Store. The Nexus 4 Wireless Charger, as it is called, is made by LG, just like the Nexus 4 itself. The device resembles a lot like the Nexus Q cut in half, suggesting Google’s influence in its design. We took it for a spin in our labs, and this video below is what happened when we unboxed it and gave a demo –

The Google Nexus 7 Dock, made by ASUS, was quietly shown off at the Consumer Electronics show this year with no dates of availability or price. But it landed on the Google Play Store recently and we thought we should check it out. So, yes here it is, in our labs. It’s a fairly simple docking solution from ASUS, and it doesn’t have all those whizzbang features. It can dock your Nexus 7 and charge it, while at the same time output audio through a 3.5mm jack. That’s all it can do. Here is a quick demo of the dock –

The Nokia Lumia 620 just launched in India, and for all you prospective buyers or owners, a good news is that Nokia just announced a rugged shell CC-3061 for the device with IP 54 dust and water protection. This shell is not a cover, not a pouch, but a replaceable shell that can just swap with your present one. The shell can withstand dust and splashes of water defined by the Ingress Protection rating of IP 54. It is slated to be available within a month.

LG has released new Quick Cover case for the Optimus G in Korea. They come in 7 colors, including 5 shiny variants and two patterned variants. The Quick Cover case has a semiconductor device mounted on a magnetic substance on the cover, that makes the screen turn off immediately when closed, and wake up immediately when opened. LG has releases a new Wireless Charging Pad (WCP-300), which is just 6.98 cm in diameter. LG claims that it is the world’s smallest wireless charger. Even though it is small in size, it would would offer better charging efficiency than the existing LG wireless chargers with up to 1.7 times large area with its circular design.
