HTC is having a presence at the MWC 2014 despite not launching its flagship smartphone here. At the event, HTC launched a couple of mid-range Android smartphones – HTC Desire 816 and HTC Desire 610. Among the two, the HTC Desire 610 is the more humbly speced device with a moderate spec sheet.

Skype pulled for Nokia Lumia 610 : Poor performance cited as reason
The Nokia 610 is one of the first phones in the market to run Windows Phone Tango. The latest version of the fledgling operating system is supposed to allow it to run on phones with lower hardware specifications than the current chassis spec. However it seems we might be facing the first signs of app fragmentation on the platform.
Skype , the popular VOIP service , has an app available for Windows Phone devices including lower spec phones like the Lumia 610. Nokia has today pulled the app for the Lumia 610 from the marketplace. Poor performance was cited as the chief reason. Unless Skype does major rewrites to the app to enable it to perform better , we might never see the app on the 610 and similar devices. Nokia Lumia 610 now in stock at UK retailers
The low-cost Windows Phone from Nokia the Lumia 610 which was announced at MWC 2012 is now in-stock at select retailers in the UK and priced very competitively. The affordable Windows Phone is available from 145.99 GBP excluding VAT ( Rs.12620 approx / 230 USD ) only in Black colour at the moment and the Cyan version is expected to be in stock in a few days. Nokia 610 to come with NFC reveals video
Nokia just revealed via a Youtube clip that the upcoming Windows Phone based handset, the Lumia 610 will include support for NFC. The information was leaked via a Youtube video which has now been set to private mode.
Nokia Lumia 610 to ship with WiFi hotspot functionality
The most affordable Windows Phone from Nokia will ship with the Wi-Fi hotspot functionality on-board. The other Windows Phones from Nokia such as the Lumia 710 and 800 do not have this functionality at this time and are expected to arrive as a software update at a later date. The product page for The Lumia 610 lists Internet sharing as one of the features.
