Wearables shipped a total of 24.7 million wearable devices during 1Q17, up 17.9% from the 20.9 million units shipped in 1Q16, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker.
A total of 701,000 tablets were shipped in India in CY Q1 2017 – a marginal drop of 2.2 percent from 716,000 units in the previous quarter, according to the latest IDC Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker. Tablet shipments in the consumer segment also declined 28 percent in Q1 2017 compared to the same period last year and resulted in a sharp 18.6 percent year-on-year (YoY) drop in total tablet shipments in India.The commercial segment accounted for one-third of total tablet shipments in India.

In 2016, fitness trackers saw a total shipment of 2.5 million units in India and the main sellers were low cost fitness trackers.
The worldwide wearables market reached a new all-time high as shipments reached 33.9 million units in the fourth quarter of 2016 (4Q16), growing 16.9% year over year, according to data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker. Shipments for the entire year grew 25% as new vendors entered the market and previous leaders refreshed their product lineups. A total of 102.4 million devices were shipped in 2016.
