Update: August 6, 2019 — HUAWEI has finally published an invitation for the announcement of EMUI 10 on August 9th. Based on a promo that surfaced recently, EMUI 10 will bring new features including Classification of UI elements’ design and effects, Gallery content management and sorting, Video Ringtones improvements, Personalization options for Theme, Wallpaper, and Fonts, Improvements to system animations, games and more.

Worldwide wearable shipments reach 59.3 million, up 31.4% YoY in Q4 2018; Apple and Xiaomi continue to lead: IDC

The worldwide market for wearable devices grew 31.4% during the Q4 2018, reaching a new high of 59.3 million units according to IDC Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker. The growth was driven by new wearables launching during the months leading up to the holiday season as well as new smartphone launches as many were bundled with wearables from leading brands. Huawei P30 Pro confirmed to feature periscope zoom camera and enhanced low-light mode

Huawei’s MWC 2019 event was centered around the Mate X foldable phone and now the company is focusing on the P30 series which is set to unveil on March 26th. Talking about P30, we already know it will come with Quad rear cameras, teardrop notch. And now, Huawei’s VP of Global Product Marketing, Clement Wong, confirmed the top-end P30 will indeed feature a periscope-style zoom camera for “super-zoom” capabilities.

Huawei Mate X foldable 5G phone banner surfaces ahead of February 24 MWC announcement

Up until now it is more or less confirmed that Huawei is all set to introduce its first foldable phone at the MWC 2019 event. However, a leaked banner image now confirms the launch and also provides us the name and an early sneak peek at the design. The Huawei’s foldable phone will be called Mate X and the company’s says that it will be the world’s first phone with 5G. Global smartphone shipments down 4.9% in Q4 2018, Samsung leads with 70.4 million, Huawei posts 43.9% YoY growth

According to IDC, worldwide smartphone shipments reached a total of 375.4 million units during the Q4, down 4.9% YoY. This marks the fifth consecutive quarter of decline. This downfall also marks the worst year ever for smartphone shipments with global smartphone volumes declining 4.1% in 2018 with a total of 1.4 billion units shipped.
