Soon to hit the Galaxy Tab 10.1 – CM9 (Android 4.0)

Now, as we all have witnessed Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), strutting its stuff on the mobile devices, we still haven’t ported it on a tablet yet. Well the people with Galaxy Tab 10.1s waiting for official Android 4.0 to hit their devices have nothing to worry about as Cyanogen himself has confirmed that he has ported CM9 on the Galaxy Tab through his Google+ account.

Motorola RAZR is the first Android Phone to use a microSIM card

When I was expecting the Motorola RAZR to arrive today , I had a question in my mind. Does this phone use a microSIM card. The Motorola DROID RAZR for Verizon uses the smaller SIM card but there was no mention about it in the Europe / Asia product pages. To my surprise when I opened the box earlier today, I noticed that the RAZR had a flap which covered the microSIM card slot and the microSD memory card slot. Google Music Android Event Live Blog

Google is holding an event in Los Angeles today and is expected to announce something connected to Google Music and Android. We have been hearing rumors that Google has been in talks with various record labels for Google Music which debuted at Google IO earlier this year.(currently in beta and available only in the US). Will Google come up with a answer to iTunes , Spotify ?  We should find out soon. We should definitely expect to  see a complete version of the Google Music App for Android too. . Lenovo to unveil Tegra 3 tablet later this year

Engadget reports that Lenovo will be launching a Quad Core , Tegra 3 based Android tablet by the end of the year. The OS of choice is not spoken about but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Honeycomb finding its place on the tablet with an update to Ice Cream Sandwich following soon.

Half a milion apps sold on the Android market.

The Android Market surpassed 500,000 applications in the month of September. Although more that 37% of submissions have been taken out over the course time for an assortment of excuses, the Android Market transcended 500,000 issued  applications last month as recorded by a mobile app market intelligence firm research2guidance. This firm also stated that the Apple’s App Store has had more than 600,000 bestselling  submissions till date having 24% of apps have been removed. This is what the firm had to say – “Although Apple regularly cleans up its store from inappropriate or outdated content, its active application share still exceeds that of Android,”  it also stated about Apple – “It is likely that the more rigid application submission requirements prevent developers from publishing multiple trial or low quality applications whereas publishers in the Android Market place a lot of market testing, trials, demo and malware content.”
