We  recently reported that the Press Images and Spec-sheets of Blackberry Torch 2 9810 and Blackberry Touch 9860 were leaked. Today we spotted two new hands-on videos of these  devices. In those videos we can see the new Blackberry OS 7 interface and new virtual touch keyboard.

An unannounced Samsung smartphone has been spotted clearing Bluetooth and WiFi certifications. Nanapho.jp has noted its UAProfile on the internet and confirmed it to be a Window Phone  Mango device.

iOS 5 Adding Face Recognition Support

9to5 Mac reports that Apple is adding support for face recognition in iOS 5.0 .  The feature will be accessible via API calls by developers allowing for some very interesting applications. The site reports that one of the APIs allows for recognizing the position of the person’s eyes and mouth.

Vodafone 555 Blue ‘Facebook phone’ announced

Vodafone UK today announced the 555 Blue, a budget Facebook phone aimed at the masses.

The phone will feature a QWERTY monoblock design, 2.4″ touchscreen display with QVGA resolution, Bluetooth, FM radio, 2 Megapixel camera with LED flash and microSD card slot. It relies on 2.5G EDGE data for connection and will not feature any sort of 3G and WiFi connectivity. Like the HTC ChaCha, the 555 Blue will also have a dedicated Facebook button.

Beetel To Launch Android Powered Beetel Magiq Tablet In India

Beetel, a part of the Bharti Group, will soon launch its first tablet device, the Beetel Magiq in India. This tablet runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) Operating System and it seems to be a rebranded version of Huawei SmaKit S7.

Almost all the major handset manufacturers are entering into the tablet market. Even Micromax and Maxx mobiles are planning to launch their tablet in India. Beetel, a part of the Bharti Group, will soon launch its first tablet device, the Beetel Magiq in India. This tablet was recently listed at Sagar Telecom, an unknown online retailer in India, but the page was later removed. This tablet runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) Operating System and it seems to be a rebranded version of Huawei SmaKit S7. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Finally Gets The Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update

Yesterday, we posted that, Sony Ericsson has officially confirmed that, the Android 2.3 update would come this week. And now, the company has kept their promise and finally rolled out the Gingerbread update.

 

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the company’s most popular Android smartphone. It was originally launched with the Android 1.6 (Donut) Operating system, later it was updated to Android 2.1 (Eclair). Earlier this year, Sony Ericsson announced that, the company will skip the Froyo update and it will finally roll out the much-awaited Android Gingerbread update during the Q3 of 2011. Telus launching HTC Status in Canada

HTC ChaCha was officially announced by HTC at MWC which features a dedicated Facebook button and a portrait QWERTY keyboard and it’s especially for people who can’t live without the world’s famous social network known as Facebook. A few days ago, it was launched by AT&T as HTC Status and it’s also AT&T’s first ever device debuting with Android 2.3 and they are offering it for $59 with a 2-yr contract.
