HTC to shut down cloud services, asks users to download stored data

HTC has many new plans this year, one of their plan is to concentrate on less devices and make their Sense platform better, just a while back HTC Sense customers received a mail saying that their cloud services like Contacts, messages, Footprints and call history will be shut down and made offline. The heading says that they are not actually shutting the service down but renovating their cloud service or HTCSense.com.

Carbon for Android previewed on video , Looks fantastic

Carbon for Twitter which had made a name for itself on the doomed WebOS platform recently made the jump to Windows Phone 7. Increasing its reach a bit , it is now also making its way to the exceptionally popular Android platform. The developers put up a short video demoing its refreshing new UI today.

Nokia Lumia 900 coming to AT&T on April 8 for $99.99


AT&T and Nokia has announced that Nokia Lumia 900 would be available exclusively in the U.S. from them on April 8 for $99.99. Nokia and AT&T  announced the Lumia 900 with AT&T’s 4G LTE support at CES 2012 in January. The Nokia Lumia 900 has 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm  Snapdragon S2 processor. It has 8 MP camera on the back with Nokia’s Carl Zeiss optics and a front-facing camera which was missing in the 800. It runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) and has 1830 mAh battery. HTC One X launching in India in April


HTC has confirmed on their Facebook page that HTC One X, their first Quad-core smartphone would launch in India in April 2012. HTC announced the HTC One X at the MWC 2012 last month. It packs in 4.7 inch Super LCD HD display as well as a 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad-Core processor. Instagram opens sign up page for Android users

The long awaited version of Instagram for Android is right around the corner as was revealed by co-founder Kevin Systrom at SXSW. In anticipation for the impending release , Instagram has opened up a sign up page so that Android users will be notified as soon as the app goes live on the store.

Instagram is an incredibly popular photo sharing service which lets users apply filters to images. Used by over 27 million users, the service has so far been an iOS exclusive. Systrom has previously claimed that the Android app is even better than the much lauded iOS application. There is no set date for the application to go live but you can sign up at the link below to be informed about it as soon as it does.

Google considering sharing revenue with carriers to stimulate Wallet adoption

Reports suggest that Google might be considering sharing revenues from Google Wallet with AT&T and Vodafone to help stimulate usage. The service currently only works on one network and device ie the Sprint Nexus S 4G. Sprint plans to out 10 more Wallet supported devices later this year.

Nokia launches Play To beta for Lumia phones

Nokia has launched Play To app for Lumia phones in the Nokia Beta labs. This app would enable you share your photos and videos from your Nokia Lumia phone to your DLNA-capable devices (TV’s, BlueRay players, Mediaplayer in Windows 7, etc…) over your Wi-Fi. AT&T rolls out Android 4.0 update for HTC Vivid, lists 10 other devices to get ICS update

AT&T has officially announced the availability of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) for HTC Vivid. We told you how to update HTC Vivid to ICS manually last week. This update would bring optimized audio experience of Beats by Dr. Dre Audio and new and improved HTC Sense experience with Sense version 3.6. The company announced HTC Vivid last November. Last week HTC confirmed list of devices that would receive Android 4.0 update. This will also the first U.S. smartphone to receive Ice Cream Sandwich update issued by a carrier. Sony Xperia’s TV Ad is Made of Tiny Robots

When it comes to ads, Sony has always pushed the limit of creativeness. Who here remember their famous Bravia ads, like Playdoh and Paint? With the release of their next Xperia NXT devices, Sony Mobile is relying on a massive advertising campaign to promote the brand. The new TV campaign is directed by Wes Anderson of Fantastic Mr. Fox fame. It tells the story of little Androids who work tirelessly inside an Xperia smartphone, all based on the imagination of a little kid. How sweet is that? The TV ad is supposed to premier on the evening of Saturday 24 March but it seems that someone at Sony has jumped the gun. Jump over to view the stop motion animated ad in all its glory.

Panasonic Eluga coming to NTT Docomo in Japan on March 29

Panasonic announced Eluga, 4-3-inch waterproof Android smartphone for Europe at MWC 2012 last month. NTT docomo has announced that it  will be available on March 29th as P-04D in their NEXT series. MediaTek launches Mobile Theater – Mobile audio and video compression software

Semiconductor manufacturer MediaTek has launched Mobile Theater, a new video and audio compression software for feature phones. It runs both MPEG-4 and H.264, among other popular digital video/audio coding formats. The compression reduces the video size allowing users to store 50 film clips on a 2GB T-card without compromising on quality.
