Samsung confirms Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for range of Galaxy Smartphones and Tablets


Samsung has announced the list of devices that would receive the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update according reports from The Verge and Techcrunch. Samsung started rolling out the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy SIII yesterday starting from Poland. Samsung Denmark confirmed the Jelly Bean updates for S2 earlier this month, now we have the complete list of the devices that would get the update. LTE capable Medfield chips coming soon says Intel

Intel’s smartphone powering Medfield chips have been curiously missing from the US market having seen a launch in India, China, Russia and the UK. It turns out that this might be due to their lack of support for LTE. Sumeet Syal, Marketing Chief at Intel, said in an interview that current x86 SoC’s will not support the high speed network but a modem solution will be available by the end of the year.

Sony introduces range of external battery packs for smartphones

Sony just introduced its new line of external battery packs aimed at smartphones and tablet computers. The capacities being introduced range from 3,500 to 7,000 mAh which should be enough for even the power users. The boxes which weight about 189gms and measure 130.6mm by 12.9mm ensure that the smartphone sized batteries can fit in your pocket.

Pink Galaxy S3 launched by Samsung in Korea

Samsung has launched the Martian Pink Galaxy S3 in Korea. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S3 in range of colors including Amber Brown, Garnet Red, Sapphire Black and Titanium Grey last month. This 32GB variant of the Galaxy S3 in Martian Pink color would be sold in limited numbers. It is aimed at women and younger generation. Nokia Asha 308 Dual SIM and Asha 309 affordable Touch Screen phones announced

Nokia has announced 2 new phones, the Asha 308 and Asha 309 in the Asha range. These are the successors of the Asha 305 and 306 that was introduced in June. Both these phones come with a 3.0-inch (240 x 400 pixels), scratch-resistant capacitive touch display and a 2MP camera. It runs on Nokia Asha OS with Swipe Interface. WiShare app for Android makes WiFi sharing easy

Antara Apps, a Netherland-based company has launched WiShare, a new app for Android smartphones that makes WiFi sharing easy . The WiShare app creates a network connection that lets you share WiFi connection with phone contacts directly from your phone. You can add your friends allowing them to share Wi-Fi connections and create a Co-op throughout their respective cities and travel destinations. Sony Xperia tipo Review


Here is the FoneArena review of the Sony Xperia tipo. Sony announced it in June and we unboxed the device last week. It packs in a 3.2-inch (480 x 320 pixels) 262k color TFT display and is powered by a 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It is slightly larger than the Xperia mini and Sony has replaced the hardware buttons with the capacitive touch buttons. Today we were at the Idea Cellular’s Press Conference for the AURUS smartphone launch. We also checked out the Idea 3G TV app on the entry-level Android Smartphone. The service is provided free for 3 months along with AURUS and other Idea smartphones. It would let you watch more than 100+ Live TV channels. Apple sells 5 million iPhone 5’s in just 3 days after launch , 100 million iOS devices already running iOS 6


Apple has just announced in a press release that they have just managed to sell 5 million iPhone 5’s in just the opening weekend.Although pre-ordering did start on September 14, the device did not land in the hands of consumers till September 21. The bigger number hidden in the press release is the fact that 100 million iOS device have already upgraded to iOS 6 which is the latest operating system for Apple iPhone , iPad and iPod Touch. The OS update was made available only on September 19th and it is amazing have so many devices have moved to the latest version of the operating system which is surrounded by controversy regarding the quality of maps. iOS 6 marks the first time , Apple has gotten rid of Google Maps in favor of it’s in-house mapping application

Huawei to unveil two Windows Phone 8 devices on September 25th

Samsung was the first handset maker to announce a Windows Phone 8 device, the ATIV S. They showed it off in Berlin in late August. Nokia was next in line a week later in New York with the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. Then there was HTC with the 8X and 8S, again in New York. Now it’s Huawei’s turn. According to ITProPortal, the Chinese handset maker is going to hold an event on the 25th of this month, probably in China, though that hasn’t been confirmed yet, to announce the W1 and the W2. The latter is set to be the higher end device that will allegedly rival the Nokia Lumia 920, whereas the former is a “midrange” device. Idea launches AURUS Dual SIM 3G Android Smartphone for Rs. 7190

Idea Cellular has launched the AURUS, their new Dual-SIM Android smarphone. It has a 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 ( Gingerbread). It is powered by a 800MHz processor and has a 5MP camera, front-facing camera for video calling . The 5MP camera in the phone uses software interpolation that enlarges the captured image resolution beyond the actual resolution by adding extra pixels.
