Simmtronics has launched XPAD X-801, their new Android tablet with 2G SIM card slot and voice calling support. The company launched the XPAD X-720, their first tablet with a 7-inch display in India last month. The XPAD X-801 has a 8-inch (800 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 2MP rear camera, and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes with pre-loaded apps such as Youtube, PDF file viewer, Documents To Go, Sound Recorder, Skype and more. Polaroid iM1836 Android-powered interchangeable lens camera announced
Polaroid has announced iM1836, the first interchangeable lens (mirrorless) Android camera at CES 2013, produced by Sakar International. It has a 18.1 megapixel sensor and comes with interchangable 10-30mm optical zoom lens and also accepts micro Four Thirds system lenses in other mirrorless cameras. Tax raid on Nokia India’s Chennai plant, evasion to the tune of Rs. 3000 crore suspected
The Economic Times reports that there’s a tax raid going on at Nokia India’s plant at Sriperumbudur near Chennai. The team of tax officials are conducting investigations at the plant as well the Finnish company’s offices in Chennai. Officials suspect tax evasion to the tune of Rs. 3000 crore.

The Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch 720p display unlike the Ascend D2 that has a 5-inch 1080p display. But the Ascend Mate has a 1.5 GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) similar to the D2. Huawei announced the Ascend D2 the company’s latest Android Smartphone with a 5-inch 1080p display earlier today at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013. Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and 600 quad-core processors announced, offers speeds up to 2.3 GHz
Qualcomm has announced Snapdragon 800 and Snapdragon 600 series at CES 2013. The Snapdragon 800 is the high-end processor that has quad core Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. It would offer speeds of up to 2.3 GHz per core and up to 75 percent better performance than the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processors. It can also play UltraHD or 4K videos and has built-in 4G LTE Cat 4 and 802.11ac support. The Snapdragon 600 series has quad-core Krait 300 CPU running at up to 1.9 GHz and Adreno 320 GPU that offers 40% better performance than the Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The company has also announced Snapdragon 400 series of processors for mid-range phones and Snapdragon 200 series aimed at entry level smartphones. It comes with Native Damage Resistance (NDR) that offers enhanced scratch resistance, reduced scratch visibility, and better retained strength once a scratch occurs. Sony has announced Xperia ZL at CES 2013. This is a variant of the Xperia Z for select markets, and packs in similar features as the Xperia Z including a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Reality display with mobile Bravia Engine 2, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with Adreno 320 GPU and a 13MP camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and video. It is not water or dust resistant like the Xperia Z and doesn’t have a glass back, but comes with a glowing LED indicator below the display. It comes with PlayStation Mobile support. LG demos Panorama Note for Optimus Vu 2 at CES, coming to select Optimus devices in 2013
LG has announced that they would demonstrate Panorama Note, a new feature for the Optimus Vu 2 at CES 2013. The Panorama Note would let uses create extra wide 3:1 ratio memos and drawings directly on smartphone displays. The Wide 3:1 ratio image provides free hand drawing or jotting notes easy. LG Optimus devices already have Q memo to jot quick note, but the Panorama Note feature has 5.8 times zooming capability, easy navigation both horizontally and vertically, and mini map to make large notes. Huawei launches the 6.1 inch Ascend Mate at CES
Huawei has now arrived to the phablet party in a size that rivals the Galaxy Note II. Along with the Ascend D2, Huawei’s flagship device, the Ascend Mate has been announced at the Huawei CES press conference. The 6.1 Ascend Mate has a 720p screen and the same K3V3 1.5 GHz quad core processor that is produced in house, by Huawei. And even more amazing is the fact that the gigantic 6.1 inch display is supported by a huge 4050 mAH battery.

Huawei Ascend D2 announced at CES, 5 inch 1080p 1.5 GHz Quad core Android Jellybean
We have seen the leaks and we definitely saw this coming. Yes, Huawei has unveiled the new Ascend D2 and Ascend Mate at CES today, at their press conference. It has a 5 inch full HD 1080p screen, which means that it will join the ranks of HTC’s J Butterfly and many more Android devices to come this year. The phone sports a 1.5 GHz Quad core in house K3V3 processor and runs on Android Jellybean. The battery is rated at 3000 mAH and the device sports a 13 megapixel rear camera.
