Videocon Telecom has introduced a new tariff voucher that reduces outgoing roaming call rates by 50 percent. This pack lets customers make local calls at 50 paise per minute and STD calls at 75 paise per minute while roaming across India. Videocon was the first operator in India to make incoming calls free while on roaming on their own network, without any processing fee or a special tariff voucher. The company launched 3 free National Incoming Roaming packs recently with free incoming calling minutes while roaming on other networks. Xolo Play Tegra Note with Tegra 4 processor listed online for Rs. 18990
Xolo Play Tegra Note was expected to launch in India in October, but it didn’t happen. Now the Tegra 4-powered 7-inch Android tablet has appeared on Flipkart. This is a re-branded Tegra Note tablet that was announced back in September and Xolo was announced as a partner for India launch. It has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display with support for NVIDIA DirectStylus technology and also comes with a stylus pen. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 CPU and runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

Airtel to launch 4G LTE on Smartphones in Bangalore this December
Airtel launched 4G LTE services in Pune last October, and rolled out the 4G TD-LTE service in Kolkata, Bengaluru and Punjab, but it doesn’t support voice or SMS currently. Earlier this year Airtel had announced that they would offer voice services for 4G customers in Pune. The company recently shared on Twitter that they plan to introduce 4G services for customers with 4G-enabled smartphones. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz with a Adreno 330 GPU, which is likely to be MSM8974AC chip, even though it is mentioned as MSM8974 in the benchmarks. YotaPhone with LCD and e-Ink screen launched for 499 Euros
Yota Devices has finally launched the YotaPhone at an event in Russia as we reported recently. The YotaPhone is priced at 499 Euros in Europe and costs 19,980 Rubles in Russia. The company showed off the phone with dual screens at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year. It has 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LCD capacitive multi touch main screen and a 4.3-inch (360×640 pixels) E-Ink rear screen. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8960 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 ( Jelly Bean). USB Type-C connector to succeed 3.0 with thinner double-sided design
It’s been almost 5 years since the USB 3.0 standard made its way into devices and peripherals alike, and finally, with a change of design trends, the folks at the USB 3.0 Promoter group have detailed the new Type-C connector. Officially the development has begun and is initially built on USB 2.0 and 3.1 technologies with scope for further growth and scalability. The main aim of this development seems to addressing shrinking sizes in thickness of smartphones and tablets. It is said to be similar in size to the micro USB type-B connector but will enable double-sided use unlike now.

Large screen smartphones will slow down tablet growth to single-digit rates by 2017 – IDC
Worldwide tablet shipments are expected to slow down to single-digit percentage yearly by 2017, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). The research reveals that the tablet shipments will reach 221.3 million units in 2013, compared to previous forecast of 227.4 million, but the shipment growth is expected to slow to 22.2% YoY in 2014 to 270.5 million units.
