At the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 launch event, Samsung launched Club Samsung for its Indian infotainment content that includes, Music, Movies, Gigs and Live TV, optimized for Samsung Galaxy devices. It offers content in various languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. Samsung GamePad coming to India in January

Recently we brought you information that Samsung’s GamePad went on sale in Europe. Today, during the launch of Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, Samsung have also announced that the Smartphone GamePad will go on sale in India from the end of January in 2014. The pricing of this GamePad was mentioned as Rs. 4,999.

Samsung’s Smartphone GamePad will allow owners of Galaxy smartphone to instantly transform their smartphone into a handheld console or a gaming console by pairing the smartphone to a display. Unlike Samsung smartphones,  the Smartphone GamePad is carved out of a metal frame making it easy to hold on to and at the same time, giving it a premium look. The smartphone GamePad will connect with the smartphone via Bluetooth pairing and on optimized Android 4.3 devices like Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Note 2 and Note 3, pairing can be done via NFC tags.

Samsung Smartphone GamePad will be compatible with Samsung Galaxy devices like Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 and many others. The device will be compatible with Samsung’s PLAY application that will let you manage the controller. By pressing the Play button on the controller, you can easily access the market for games which are optimized for GamePad.

Samsung launched the most expected Galaxy Grand 2 in India today, at an event in Mumbai. Even though the company did not announce the final pricing of the smartphone, Manu Sharma, Director Samsung Mobiles, revealed that the device would be priced between Rs. 22900 and Rs. 24900 when it launches in January 2014. The Galaxy Grand 2 was announced last month and packs a 5.25-inch (1280 x 720 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Samsung has launched the Galaxy Grand 2 in India as we reported last week, but the company did not reveal the pricing. It was unveiled last month and packs a 5.25-inch (1280 x 720 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera. It is just 8.9 mm thick and weighs 163 grams. Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c with 4G come to China Telecom

Earlier this year, when Apple launched their latest and greatest iPhone – iPhone 5s, they also introduced a more colorful, but less powerful iPhone 5c. After a lot of talk with the Chinese telecom players, Apple introduced the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in China right from the launch date. However, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c have not been available at China Telecom which is the world’s largest mobile network. Apple and China Telecom have announced that the new iPhones – iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are coming to China Telecom on January 17, 2014.

BlackBerry partners with Foxconn to produce affordable BlackBerry 10 devices

As sales plunge, BlackBerry has announced a new partnership with Foxconn to produce BlackBerry 10 devices. The five year partnership aims to launch the first device by March or April. The BlackBerry 10 based device will be introduced first in Indonesia. The company has also earmarked six or seven additional markets for the device.

Temple Run 2 finally arrives for Windows Phone 8

Imangi Studios, creators of Temple Run has launched Temple Run 2 for Windows Phone 8 devices finally, as it promised. The first Temple Run game for Windows Phone was released back in March. Temple Run: Brave and Temple Run: Oz in the franchise were released soon after. The Temple Run 2 has similar gameplay mechanics as the first Temple Run game such as running, jumping, turning and sliding. Google certified Cyanogen Mod Oppo N1 shipping on Christmas Eve

Oppo N1 is the first Cyanogen Mod phone to have been approved by Google’s strict CTS, for compliance to Android compatibility and of course, inclusion of Google Play on this limited edition device. The Oppo N1 Cyanogen Mod Edition was announced as “coming in December” but never really got solid dates owing to the obvious roadblocks, but thanks to this recent development, Oppo has revealed that the device is shipping on Christmas Eve i.e December 24th of this year. This marks the first time in history that a popular third party AOSP ROM based phone is Google certified and is shown the green light. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 likely to launch in India on December 23rd


Samsung has sent us an invite for a smartphone launch on Monday, December 23rd, 2013. The invite just says “New GALAXY Smartphone Launch” without giving any hint about the smartphone. Since there are no new smartphones for Samsung to launch in India and it had already released the new Galaxy S Duos 2, it is likely to launch the Grand 2 next week. The Galaxy Grand that was launched earlier this year was one of the popular mid-range smartphone in this year. The Grand 2 with better display, faster processor more RAM and a larger battery would definitely attract more customers in the mid-range segment. Geeksphone Revolution with Intel Atom Z2560 CPU and multi-OS support coming in Q1 2014

Spanish handset maker Geeksphone has finally revealed the specifications of their upcoming high-end smartphone called Revolution. It would feature a 4.7-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core  Intel Atom Z2560 processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and Hyper-Threading technology. Last month the company posted a video showing the performance of an Intel Atom-powered developer device compared with a Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered device, both running on Firefox OS.
