Xiaomi has announced that 60,000 units of Remi 1S smartphones would be available in fourth flash sale in India. This is 20,000 more than first three sales. Amazon has updated its Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet. It has a that same 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display, but now it is powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, instead of Snapdragon 800 on last year’s Fire HDX 8.9. It runs on the new Fire OS 4.0 Sangria based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 5P f/2.2 lens and a front-facing 720p HD camera. Amazon has introduced the Fire HD 6 and has also upgraded last year’s Fire HD with a faster processor. The Fire HD 6 and H7 have 6-inch and 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel displays, faster 1.5 GHz quad-core processors, 2MP rear and a VGA front-facing camera. These run on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB of RAM and come in 8GB and 16GB variants. These don’t have LTE support. Amazon has introduce Kindle Voyage, the company’s new eBook Reader. The 7th generation of e-ink Kindle has a 6-inch display at 300 PPI pixel density and the the built-in light has a new display technology with higher contrast that makes it 39% brighter. It has a new light sensor on the top so that front light automatically adjusts the brightness of the display based on the surrounding light.
