Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy Note 4 in India tomorrow, October 14th, and the smartphone would be available for purchase from stores across the country starting October 17th. The Galaxy Note 4 was unveiled at IFA last month and packs a 5.7-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) QHD Super AMOLED display, powered by a 2.7 quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor or Octa-Core Exynos processor with four Cortex-A57 clocked at 1.9GHz and four Cortex-A53 running at 1.3GHz, Mali-T760 GPU and 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with new Samsung UI. IRCTC has finally launched the official app for Android called IRCTC Connect. Last year IRCTC app was launched for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 devices developed in partnership with Microsoft and it was launched by BlackBerry for BlackBerry 10 smartphones back in August. Google Play Games is receiving a new feature that lets you see other players that are playing the same game as you nearby. Dubbed as ‘Nearby Players’, the feature uses Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and microphone to find out players that are near your location.

In the current technology landscape, wearables are touted as the next big thing. It succeeds the smartphone, in one way or the other, so a lot of companies that bet on the smartphone are betting on the smartwatch too. This includes Apple, who unveiled their idea of a Smartwatch, with a focus on making tech fashionable, rather than just utility-focused. The utility is achieved with software, and that’s where platforms come in to play. Just like Smartphones, there is already a battle of ecosystems brewing, in which Google is obviously a major player. As we had explained in our Pebble review, Smartwatches are basically companion devices to our Smartphones and it actually makes sense if both of them are tied together with highly coherent software. So naturally, a Google-blessed platform will work great with Android. Enter Android Wear.
Microsoft has launched a keyboard for Android Wear that lets you draw letters on smartwatches. Dubbed as ‘Analog’ keyboard, Microsoft has released the prototype of the keyboard that can be downloaded on company’s website.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 Plus last month with 5.5 inch screen in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants. In case of Indian price the iPhone 6 Plus bears a price tag of INR 62,500 for the basic 16GB variant, INR 71,500 and INR 80,500 for 64GB and 128GB options, respectively. It is the first phone from the company to sport a large screen. It has a 5-inch HD OGS display, powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom (BCM23550) processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat).
