Chinese manufacturer Vivo is getting one more variant of its popular slimmest smartphone X5Max dubbed the Vivo X5Max S. The smartphone isn’t as slim as the X5Max and has already been certified by Chinese certification authority TENAA.

The Vivo X5Max S features a larger 4150mAh battery, according to TENAA listing, instead of a 2000mAh battery seen on X5Max. As a result the smartphone is 7.29mm thick, which is 2.54mm extra thickness than the 4.75mm thick Vivo X5Max.

Coming to the specifications, the X5Max S will feature the same 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display as X5Max, but with a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 SoC with 2GB of RAM. The 16GB of internal storage is listed to be expandable via microSD card slot (up to 128GB).

Primary rear camera on the device is 13-megapixel shooter with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. The phone is listed to feature dual-SIM with support for 4G (TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE) connectivity.

To remind you, Vivo during the MWC 2015 had also launched the Vivo X5Max+. It had a slightly bumped thickness of 5.1mm because of bigger 2300mAh battery. It also featured the 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 SoC with 2GB of RAM instead of the 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor seen on original X5Max.

While The Vivo X5Max S is expected to get unveiled on this Friday May 13, along with the anticipated Vivo X5Pro – which is rumoured to feature a retina scanner, and a Type-C USB port.
