Xiaomi just announced Mi 4c, the company’s latest smartphone in the Mi 4 series at an event in China, as it promised. It has a 5-inch 1080p display from Sharp, AUO or LG, is powered by an Hexa-Core Snadpragon 808 processor and runs on MIUI 6 based on Android Lollipop, but it will get the new MIUI 7 update soon. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with two-tone LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens. WhatsApp, social media exempted from Draft National Encryption Policy after uproar

The Government has confirmed that it will exempt WhatsApp and social media like Facebook, Twitter, payment gateways, e-commerce and password based transactions from the Draft National Encryption Policy.

Lenovo has launched Vibe Shot, the company’s camera-centric smartphone in India, as it promised. It was announced back in March at the MWC and packs a 5-inch 1080p display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 SoC and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with new Vibe UI on top. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 16-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization, tricolor flash and infrared autofocus the promises 2 times faster focus than normal autofocus. OnePlus 2 gets Oxygen OS 2.1.0 OTA update with manual camera mode, color balance adjustment and more

OnePlus has started rolling out Oxygen OS v2.1.0 OTA update for the OnePlus 2 smartphone, as it promised earlier this month. This update includes manual mode for camera, Exchange support, several improvements and fixes. It also brings RAW support in 3rd party camera apps that support it, but there are some reports of RAW format still not being supported in 3rd party camera apps, and OnePlus says will look into it and provide a follow up soon. Apple releases watchOS 2 with new watch faces, enhanced communication options and more

Apple announced the watchOS 2 at the WWDC back in June. At the iPhone event earlier this month, Apple said that it will release watchOS 2 on September 16th, along with the iOS 9, but it got delayed due to bugs that was discovered at the last moment. Now it has rolled out the update for the Apple Watch that brings new features such as native support for third-party apps such as News, Weather, Facebook Messenger, GoPro with viewfinder support on Watch, new ‘Time Travel’ feature lets you rotate the digital crown to move forward or backwards in your appointments, Transit option in maps for finding public transportation and several improvements. 2-in-1s are tailor made for two different scenarios, work and play. iOS 9 hits record 50% adoption less than a week after release

Apple today announced that iOS 9, its latest operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch that was released on September 16th is now present in more than 50% of iOS devices. DeitY releases Draft National Encryption Policy, invites public comments

The Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) has made the ‘Draft National Encryption Policy’. The policy aims to “enable (an) information security environment and secure transactions in cyberspace for individuals, businesses and government including nationally critical information systems and networks.”
