At the Google I/O 2017 Stephanie Saad Cuthbertson, Director, Product Management Google announced that Android O will bring more fluid experiences, as well as improvements to what the company call “vitals” like battery life and security. Android Vitals focuses on optimizing battery life, start up time, graphic rendering time, and stability. On Google Pixel boot time will be 2x faster in Android O, compared to Android N.

This is built into the Android O and upcoming Android versions, and promises smooth and efficient software experience. IFA Global Press Conference 2017 Summary

You guys must have surely heard of IFA or Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin auf Deutsch which happens every year in Berlin in September. It is infact one of of the oldest tech conferences in Europe and used to be a Radio exhibition long ago. The organisers hold a GPC or Global Press Conference every year and they invited me to the press conference in Lisbon, Portugal few days back and It was indeed a great experience. Google at the Google I/O 2017 announced its standalone Daydream VR headset, as expected. HTC’s VIVE and Lenovo will be building these headsets that are coming later this year. Google will also create a standalone headset reference design powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 VR platform. Since it is an untethered headset that doesn’t require a smartphone like the first generation Daydream headset, and this comes with positional head-tracking.

Google Assistant is now available on the iPhone

The rumors of Google Assistant coming to the iOS is indeed true. Google, today at its I/O developer conference in Mountain View announced that the Assistant will be available on the iPhone. Google’s Assistant takes on Apple’s Siri directly and it will be interesting to see who wins this battle.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai at Google I/O in Mountain View announced that the company has passed 2 billion active devices on its Android platform.
