It looks like Xiaomi may soon start making its own processors. According to a latest report from the Wall Street Journal, the Chinese smartphone maker is planning to move away from Qualcomm processors as its primary chip provider.

Vodafone launches 4G services in Chennai

After launching 4G services in Coimbatore and Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu in December and in Madurai last month, Vodafone has launched its 4G services in Chennai, as it had promised. Huawei’s Honor brand has finally started rolling out EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) update for the Honor 8 (FRD-L04) smartphone in the U.S. In addition to Android Nougat, the EMUI 5.0 also brings a range of UI changes including changes to Home-screen Interface, Notification Shade, App Drawer, Recent Apps and more.

The advent of self-portraits or “selfies” as they are commonly known and the ever-increasing popularity of social media has resulted in the rise of smartphones that are specifically designed to cater to this particular demographic. The primary emphasis as a result becomes the front facing camera which ironically has always been refered to as the secondary camera. Now, it may seem as if terms such as “primary” and “secondary” depend on the smartphone itself and what it tries to achieve. Gionee A1 with 16MP front camera, Android 7.0 live images surface ahead of MWC 2017

Gionee yesterday sent out invites for the global launch event of A1 and A1 Plus smartphones at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona on February 27th. Now live images of the smartphone has surfaced in Nepal. This coincides with earlier rumors that confirms 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5d curved glass display, 16-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 7.0 (Nougat) and more. Amazon Echo with Alexa AI assistant reportedly launching in India this year

Amazon is expected to launch Echo, its voice activated smart speaker device in India this year, according to a latest report from FactorDaily. Powered by Alexa which is an artificial intelligent voice assistant, Echo acts as a smart hub for your home.

Citing sources the report said that Amazon is “putting together content and localising the service,”. Amazon Echo is expected to be announced in second half of 2016. Announced in 2014, the device lets you enjoy music, manage everyday tasks and ask questions via voice commands. It offers real-time answers for questions ranging from cooking, news, sports and even basic day-to-day tasks like knowing the weather, stock markets and so on.

Last year, Google launched Google Home smart speaker that comes with Google Assistant which competes directly with Amazon Echo. Amazon is already aggressive in India with the recent Amazon Prime and Prime Video launch.
