Apple has beat Samsung to claim the top position as the top smartphone vendor based on shipments in the fourth quarter of 2016, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). Apple, as it announced earlier today shipped 78.3 million smartphones during the quarter grabbing 18.3% market share compared to Samsung who shipped 77.5 smartphones grabbing 18.1% market share. First render of the Huawei’s P10 smartphone surfaced last year. Now renders of the P10 Plus, the top-end version of the smartphone has surfaced in China. This reveals a 5.5-inch Quad HD curved glass screen and possibly a iris scanner along with ring flash on the back. The fingerprint sensor is present on the back, still there is a home button below the display.
A new rumor about Samsung Galaxy S8 suggests it will also come in a 6GB RAM variant. Previous reports had said that the flagship will have 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage.

Apple has reported all-time record quarterly revenue of $78.4 billion with a net profit of $17.89 billion in their earnings for the financial year Q1 2017 that ended December 31, 2016. Revenues were up 3.29% year-over-year driven by very strong product mix and the success of iPhone 7 Plus, but profit was down 2.77% YoY. Apple reported all-time record quarterly earnings per diluted share of $3.36.
Samsung has finally sent out invites for its event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona this month, which is scheduled for February 26th. Samsung already confirmed that the Galaxy S8 will not be introduced at the MWC and will debut at a separate event later, which is rumored to be set for March. The teaser in the invite shows a tablet’s home button which could be the rumored Galaxy Tab S3 that was expected to be introduced at the IFA last year.
