The future is OLED. The deep blacks and simply jaw-dropping contrast levels, viewing angles possible using the tech create an image that almost  pop out from the screen. So it’s really no surprise that the top end television in Sony’s line up sports an OLED panel similar to LG and Panasonic’s line up. HMD Global schedules an event on October 19 in China, Nokia 7 expected?

HMD Global has scheduled an event in China on October 19th in China where the company is expected to launch a brand new phone. Currently, there is no clear information as to what the company might introduce because of the multiple possibilities. The company might launch the Nokia 8 variants in China or announce a brand new model altogether.

Researchers have concluded that the WPA2 Wi-Fi protocol is vulnerable to attacks and the protocol has a severe weakness which lets hackers within the range of vulnerable device or access point to intercept passwords, e-mails, and other data and in some cases inject malware content into the website the person is visiting.

Essential sued over wireless modular connector technology

Keyssa Inc, backed by iPod co-creator Tony Fadell is suing Android co-creator, Andy Rubin’s Essential over Connector technology which connects to devices like camera, etc. without wires or WiFi. The company is accusing Essential of theft of trade secrets in a legal lawsuit filed on 16th October, Monday in U.S. federal court in San Francisco.

Qualcomm achieves 1Gbps download speeds with X50 5G modem, shows 5G smartphone reference design

At the ongoing Qualcomm 4G/5G summit, Qualcomm officially introduced the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem and has demoed the 5G data connectivity on a single-chip 5G modem. The company with its 5G modem was able to deliver 1-gigabit per second download speeds and a data connection of 28GHz mmWave radio frequency band combined with advanced signal processing technologies.

Qualcomm at the 2017 4G/5G Summit announced Snapdragon 636, an upgraded version of Snapdragon 630 that was introduced earlier this year. It is developed using the same 14nm FinFet process technology, but this uses eight Kryo 260 CPUs instead of A53 CPUs in the Snapdragon 630 that promises 40% increase in performance. It also has support for ultra-wide FHD+ displays and Assertive Display, which optimizes the visibility of the display in all lighting conditions. Xiaomi just announced Redmi 5A, its latest budget 4G smartphone in the Redmi series and the successor of last year’s Redmi 4A in China without much changes. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor and runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 (Nougat). Samsung Galaxy S8+, Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) get a price cut in India

Samsung has slashed the price of three of its smartphones in India. The Galaxy S8+ that was launched back in April for Rs. 64900 has received a Rs. 6000 price cut and is available for Rs. 58,900. Even though the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage version had already received two price cuts, this is the first time the 64GB version is getting a price cut. Facebook launches food delivery service in the US

Facebook has now forayed into the food delivery space. The social network is now bringing the ability for users to order food for pick-up or delivery, directly on Facebook. Users will now be able to order delivery or takeout from restaurant chains such as Papa John’s and Panera, and on-demand services including Delivery.com and DoorDash.
