nubia has launched nubia M2 Play, the company’s third smartphone in the company’s ‘M series’ in India. It was announced in China back in June and packs a 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 Mobile Platform, runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with nubia UI 5.0, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony sensor, 0.1s Hybrid Focus that uses both PDAF and CAF and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Gionee M7 Power with FullView display to be announced on September 28

Gionee yesterday teased M7 smartphone with full-screen display in China. Today it has announced that M7 power with FullView display will be announced on September 28 at an event in Bangkok, Thailand. This is the first time Gionee is unveiling its ‘M series’ phones at a global event since all their earlier events were only in China. The company says the phone has more than FullView Display, hinting at a powerful device.

Xiaomi today launched Mi A1, the company’s latest smartphone in the new ‘A series’ at a global event in New Delhi, as it had promised. It is the global variant of the Mi 5X that was introduced in China back in July, but this is an Android One phone created in partnership with Google running stock Android based on Android 7.1 (Nougat) and it will get Android 8.0 (Oreo) by 2017. It will also be one of the first phones to get Android P. Xiaomi said that Mi Camera, Mi Remote and Mi Store apps will be pre-installed. Netflix rolls out HDR support for Samsung Galaxy Note8, Sony Xperia XZ1

It looks like Netflix’s list of HDR-compatible devices is growing rapidly. The popular US based streaming service has added HDR support to Samsung Galaxy Note8 and Sony Xperia XZ1. Other flagships that come with HDR streaming support include the LG G6, LG V30 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium.

Both the A7 and and A7 XL have a 4000mAh battery with support for fast charging. The Idol 5 is a cheaper version of the Idol 5S that was introduced in the U.S. back in June. ACT Fibernet launches 150Mbps plans in Bengaluru, upgrades existing plans at no extra cost

ACT (Atria Convergence Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) has upgraded its plans for Bengaluru again, after an upgrade earlier this year. It recently launched 150 Mbps plans first time in the city, and all the existing 100Mbps plans have been upgraded to 150Mbps plans. Other plans have also been upgraded in both speed and FUP at no additional cost. Speed after FUP in these plans remain the same.
