After certification, Huawei has officially announced the Y9 2019 smartphone. It has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a narrow chin and high screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Kirin 710 SoC with 6GB of RAM, and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.2, similar to the Honor 8X but this has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel secondary camera to capture depth information in portrait shots and a 13-megapixel front camera along with a 2-megapixel front camera for portrait selfies, and both have AI photography features. Back in 2014 University of Wisconsin’s Alumni Research Foundation, or WARF has filed patent infringement lawsuit against Apple claiming that Apple’s A series chipset on iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus smartphones infringed a 1998 patent for boosting the efficiency of integrated circuits. Apple was later ordered to pay damages of around $234 million.

Ever since the launch of OnePlus 6, it has been the best premium smartphone we’ve seen this year. After confirming earlier this week that the Android Pie update for the Nokia 7 Plus is in final stages, Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer at HMD Global just announced that update for the smartphone has started rolling out, as the company had promised. The update for the phone was confirmed at the launch. Other smartphones will get the Pie update in the coming months.
