HMD Global just launched Nokia 8.1, the company’s latest mid-range Android One smartphone The successor of the most popular Nokia 7 Plus was introduced last month and packs a 6.18-inch Full HD+ 18.7:9 aspect ratio Puredisplay, DCI-P3 wide color gamut and HDR10 video playback, 86.5% screen to body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 710 10nm Mobile Platform and runs Android 9.0 (Pie).  It has a 12-megapixel rear camera rear camera with ZEISS optics, Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, OIS along with a 13-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots and zoom. POCO F1 gets a permanent price cut in India, now starts at Rs. 19999

Xiaomi’s POCO launched the  F1, the company’s first smartphone in India back in August starting at Rs. 20,999. After offering discounts during sales, Xiaomi has announced Rs. 1000 permanent price cut for the smartphone in the country to celebrate 700,000 unit sales globally. The base variant now starts at Rs. 19,999. The POCO F1 is available from both Flipkart and Mi.com at new rates.

Honor V20 with in-screen camera, 48MP rear camera teased ahead of Dec 26 announcement, will launch globally as View20 on Jan 22

Huawei’s Honor brand at an event in China teased the company’s V20 smartphone, successor of last year’s Honor V10 smartphone. This is touted as the world’s first smartphone with in-display camera, before Samsung unveils the Galaxy A8s with a similar in-display camera today. Honor calls this All-View display since it just has a 4.5mm cut out for the front camera for the front camera. The company says that even landscape mode does not affect the visual experience. Samsung Galaxy S10+ with in-display camera surface in renders, live images

With Galaxy S10 series launch set for February 2019, rumor mill seems to be in no mood to rest. We have already seen renders of the S10 series showing a small cutout on top to accommodate the front camera (two in case of Galaxy S10+). Now, we are getting to see more details of the same showing prototype of the device with a corner notch. New render from a case maker shows triple rear cameras and a single front camera. However, another version of S10+ is said to pack four rear cameras, dual front cameras and support for 5G. Apple AirPower patent application hints at privacy feature and support for different wireless charging standards

Though Apple is yet to announce the AirPower wireless charging mat, a recently published patent application from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office offers some details on a security feature of the accessory. Nokia 9 PureView penta camera smartphone is delayed due to camera issues confirms HMD Global

HMD Global for some time is known to be working on the flagship Nokia 9 smartphone with PureView camera. In the latest developments, Britta Gerbracht, German marketing head at the Nokia 8.1 launch admitted that there had been some delays. The company explains that the quality of the camera has not yet reached the necessary level, which is why HMD Global has refrained from a market launch.
