Xiaomi begins working on MIUI 13

Xiaomi announced the MIUI 12, the company’s latest UI yesterday in China with several improvements over MIUI 11. While the update is set to be rolled out to Xiaomi/Redmi devices starting June 2020, Xiaomi has already started working on MIUI 13 and the announcement comes right after MIUI 12 launch yesterday.

Airtel partners with Nokia to strengthen 4G connectivity and prepare for 5G networks

Airtel has announced its partnership with Nokia with multi-year agreement to deploy Nokia’s Single Radio Access Network (SRAN) solution to enhance Airtel 4G connectivity and also lay the groundwork for Airtel’s 5G rollout in the future. The deployment is expected to be completed by 2022 and will be rolled out in 9 circles across India.

WhatsApp now lets 8 participants in group voice and video calls [Update: Now rolling out widely]

Qualcomm Quick Charge 3+ announced, can charge devices from 0% to 50% in 15 minutes

Qualcomm introduced Quick Charge 3 fast charging technology back in 2015 for both smartphones powered by both flagship and mid-range SoCs at that time. Even though the company had introduced Quick Charge 4 in 2016 and Quick Charge 4+ in 2017, the company has now announced Quick Charge 3 fast charging technology for mid-range smartphones. It says that this can charge a phone from 0%-50% in 15 minutes, which is up to 35% faster and is 9° Celsius cooler compared to previous generations. LG already confirmed that it will introduce its first mid-range 5G smartphone – LG VELVET on May 7th in an online event. Today the company has revealed the specifications of the smartphone that includes a 6.8-inch 20.5: 9 aspect ratio Cinema FullVision FHD+ OLED display with Waterdrop Camera that houses a 16-megapixel camera, Snapdragon 765G with support for 5G, 8GB of RAM and a Waterdrop Camera that is a design in which 48MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 5MP depth triple rear cameras and a flash are arranged in a vertical direction as if water droplets are falling. Google Pixel Buds truly wireless earbuds with hybrid design, adaptive sound announced [Update: Starts rolling out]

Update: Google has finally started rolling out the Pixel Buds through Google Store and retailers including AT&T, Best Buy, Target (coming early May), T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon and Walmart in the US at US$179 (Rs. 13,640 approx.), but it is available only in Clearly White. Other colours—Almost Black, Quite Mint and Oh So Orange will be available in the coming months, said Google. Google also said that Pixel Buds will roll out to more countries in the coming months. OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger is priced in India at Rs. 3990

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and Bullets Wireless Z recently in India. The price of the smartphones were revealed at a later date, but there was no word on the price of the Wireless Charger. Finally now, OnePlus has revealed the price for the Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger and is listed on the company’s website.

Google Pixel Buds launch imminent, Pixel Buds app available in Play Store

During its 2019 October hardware launch event, Google announced their first truly wireless earphones called the Pixel Buds. However, they also announced that the product would only go on sale next year, in the summer of 2020. It looks like we are finally nearing the launch of the Pixel Buds as the Pixel Buds app is available for download for all in the Google Play Store.
