Videocon has renamed its telecom brand to from Videocon Mobile Services to Videocon Telecom and has also launched its new logo. The company has roped in Punjabi actor and singer, Gippy Grewal as its brand ambassador. The company says that the new logo creates a strong association of the brand with the telecom sector and the new brand ambassador who has huge fan following would connect with the youth segment in India. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 Unboxing

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 was launched in India a couple of months ago and we finally have it in our labs for testing. The updated version of the Galaxy Tab 2 311 has a new S3-inspired design and almost the same internals as before. The bezels have become shorter though, making it easier for one handed usage. LG G2 Benchmarks

LG unveiled the G2, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at an event last month. We brought you the unboxing of the device recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) 28nm HPm Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.27 GHz with 480 MHz Adreno 330 GPU. The Xperia Z Ultra was clocked at 2.15 GHz, but the G2 is clocked at 2.27 GHz as you can see in the CPU-Z in the image above. We brought you the benchmarks of the Snapdragon 800 on a reference smartphone few months back. Here we have also compared it in these benchmarks to show you the difference. Even though this one is slightly undercloked than the original chip that is clocked at 2.3 GHz, benchmarks are almost similar.

ZTE becomes India’s leading Data Card vendor with 30.2% marketshare in Q2, 2013

ZTE, the Chinese company known for its communication infrastructure solutions and even smartphone products, is now the leading Data Card vendor in India, with a user base of 63.04% of the total Data Card users. The CyberMedia Research team had released these statistics for the Indian market in their website sometime back, where they actually noted a decline in the Data Card market from the previous year but compared to the last quarter, Q2 has seen a 66.7% growth and about 30.2% of all the new shipments are ZTE cards, according to the data.

It went on sale online earlier this week, but the launch price is cheaper than the online price of Rs. 11700, which is a good thing. It has a 5-inch qHD (960 × 540 pixels) OGS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has Dual SIM support with dual standby and 3G connectivity. Opera has announced that they have partnered with 7 Indian OEMs including Micromax, Videocon, Spice, MoMagic Technologies, Wynncom, Lemon Mobiles and iBall to pre-install the Opera mini browser on their Android devices. Opera has also added 2 more OEMs, Symphony Mobile in Bangladesh and Colors Mobile in Nepal in South Asia region. Opera partnered with 7 Indian OEMs Celkon, Karbonn, Lava. After months of waiting, BBM will be finally available as a cross-platform service starting this week. The Panasonic P11 has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and the Panasonic T11 in the new T Series comes with a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display. Micromax to preload BBM on all its Canvas Smartphones

BlackBerry messenger, one of the most popular instant messaging services, had announced its arrival on iOS and Android platforms earlier, but it looks like manufacturers are already warming up to the concept of pre-loading it on their devices. Micromax is the one of the first manufacturers to announce that it will pre-load BBM on all of its Canvas Smartphones starting from the first week of October. But of course existing users too, can download the BBM app through the play store, irrespective of the device they own.

Madfinger Games, the creators of the popular games such as Shadowgun and Dead Trigger has just announced that the Dead Trigger 2 would be released on the 23rd of October 2013 at the Tokyo Game Show 2013. The Dead Trigger 2 is a first person zombie shooter similar to the first game that was released in 2012. The first game was launched as a paid game and went free later, but this once would launch for free on both the Android and iOS devices.
