2009 Mobile Excellence Awards is now open for submissions.  You can submit your nomination for the various award categories below at the awards website . The awards are aimed at recognizing the stars in mobile entertainment. Start-ups, Media companies and Studios all stand to be recognized globally through this platform.

The event will honor companies spanning across media, marketing, and technology. The awards will host industry leaders and honor mobile entertainment’s finest on December 7th, 2009 in Los Angeles, CA. This year’s awards show is set to outdo itself with prominent judges, new and additional categories, and industry leading partners.

Apple iPhone 3GS Price and India Launch Date

Are you waiting for the Apple iPhone 3GS to hit indian shores ?  Some good news for you. A user named Charan left a comment in our iPhone 3GS India Launch post and he has even mentioned the official price of the iPhone 3GS in India on Airtel .  This is what he had to say

The Iphone 3GS would be Launched on 9th August in India, The Price is 32000/- for 16GB Version and 39000/- for 32GB Version. I got the Information from one of my Friends who is working with Airtel.

Nokia N97 Unboxing Pictures

We have unboxing pictures of the Nokia N97 here for you. After you watched the unboxing video here are some pics of the N97 retail box. Its not a normal flashy nokia box with tons of marketing material on the outside.  Then box has a nice engraving on the top and feels to touch. We could not even find the package contents printed any where. The box is just plain and simple and made of eco-friendly recyclable material.

Nokia’s Ambarish mentioned about the the company’s commitment to make it’s retail boxes smaller and eco-friendly.

I just fell in love with the slider mechanism of the N97 and the build quality of the phone. The display is very good and Touchscreen is far more responsive than 5800. After some initial rumors and strong speculation , the HTC Magic has finally arrived in India. Bharti Airtel has teamed up with HTC to bring the the first Android Powered Phone to India.Airtel users will get 100 MB of data usage free for the first 6 months . The phone will be priced at Rs.29,900. Users can buy the phone at Airtel Relationship Centres and authorised HTC resellers across 17 cities in India – Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Cochin, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Patna.

Nokia N97 caught with the G1, iPhone 3G, E75 and E71

Here are more pics from the Nokia N97 Launch Event in Bangalore. We had a chance to take some pics of the Nokia N97 with the HTC G1, iPhone 3G, E75 and E71. The N97 and G1 are damn close in terms of size.

HTC G1      – 117.7 x 55.7 x 17.1 mm

Nokia N97 – 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm

Some say the N97 is bulky,  but you will be surprised if you see this handset in person. Its not bulky considering the fact that it has a full keyboard in addition to the touch screen display.

Nokia N86 8MP Hands on Pics from India Launch Event

We grabbed some pics of the Nokia N86 8MP at the launch event in India yesterday. The phone fits really well in the hand and the build quality is really good. There was no wobbling even though the phone has a 2 way slider mechanism. The keypad is really nice with large keys. The home screen had a new clock but could not figure out what exactly it was.The design is very similar to the N85 but its not glossy but a matte finish. Here is the monster 8 MP Camera with Carl Zeiss optics on the back.

It has a nice shutter and the keystand is also present around the camera. A nice metallic is present around the corners of the device and even in the menu key.
