OnePlus to invest $30 million to scale up 5G research and development labs

Yesterday OnePlus confirmed that its next flagship series will come with 5G support. Today it has announced that it will invest almost US$ 30 million to scale up 5G research and development labs, showcasing its commitment to bringing 5G technology to more users worldwide. The company started 5G research as early as 2016, and said that it plans to extend its plans to push 5G research and development forward, allowing OnePlus users to enjoy fast and smooth experiences on 5G. Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max with 6.67-inch FHD+ Dotdisplay, Snapdragon 720G, 5020mAh battery launched in India starting at Rs. 12999

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just launched Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max, two new smartphones as a successor of last year’s Redmi Note 8 Pro in India, as it had promised. These phones have a 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection and are powered by the latest Snapdragon 720G 8nm SoC. The Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 48-megapixel primary rear camera with Samsung GM2 Sensor, while the Note 9 Pro Max comes with a 64-megapixel camera with Samsung GW1 sensor. Other cameras are similar that includes an 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide angle lens, 5-megapixel 2cm macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is a 32-megapixel camera on the front in Note 9 Pro Max and the Note 9 Pro has a 16-megapixel camera. HMD Global confirms Android 10 (Q) update for range of Nokia smartphones [Update: Change in schedule due to Coronavirus]

Update: After rolling out Android 10 update to  Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6.1 from October to January, HMD Global has announced change in schedule for the roll out of Android 10 for remaining phones due to Coronavirus. Other phones that are supposed to get Android 10 within Q1 2020 has been pushed to Q2. OnePlus 8 series will have 5G support confirms OnePlus

OnePlus 8 series is expected launch mid-April, and the rumored launch date is April 15th. Today the company has confirmed that its upcoming flagship phones will have 5G support. Vivo NEX 3S 5G with 6.89-inch FHD+ AMOLED waterfall screen, Snapdragon 865, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 512GB UFS 3.1 storage announced

After the NEX 3 smartphone that was introduced back in September last year, the company today introduced the NEX 3S 5G smartphone in China, as it had promised. This retains the 6.89-inch waterfall screen with the left and right sides curved close to 90 degrees, with a 99.6% ultra-high screen ratio, but comes with the latest Snapdragon 865 7nm Mobile Platform with Snapdragon X55 5G Modem, liquid cooling, also has up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Redmi shows off LCD in-display fingerprint scanner, says it is ready for mass production

Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing today announced that the company has successfully implemented LCD Fingerprint scanning on an LCD screen. At present, all LCD screen mobile phones only use physical fingerprint sensor on the back or the side. The Redmi R&D team has now overcome this problem with a new method and in-screen fingerprint on LCD screens is also ready for mass production, said the company.
