Vodafone to provide free service for BlackBerry handsets in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh

Vodafone, in association with Research In Motion (RIM) is organizing a service camp at select Vodafone Stores in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. This is available for all BlackBerry Smartphone users irrespective of their service providers and is available for free of cost. They organized similar service camps in Karnataka last year. Samsung Galaxy Note gets eco-friendly carbon labeling certification in Korea

Samsung Galaxy Note has received an eco-friendly carbon labeling certification in Korea. It was issued by the KEITI (Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute) on Dec 27 last year. This carbon labeling certification for the electronics was established in February 2009 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 received such certification in Korea last August. Zynga launches Scramble With Friends for iPhone

Zynga has launched Scramble With Friends, a fun, social, fast-paced game in their ‘With Friends’ franchise. This would let players compete against opponents to beat the clock and find as many words as possible on the game board. Each match consists of three rounds of two-minutes, and the player with the highest point total at the end wins. The game is social, simple, fast, and bonus-packed. RIM might show off BlackBerry OS 10 at MWC 2012

 

Research In Motion (RIM) might show off their new BlackBerry OS 10 (BBX) at MWC 2012 in February according to a report from pocket-lint. They announced the BBX, their next generation mobile platform at the Developer Conference this October and later changed it to BlackBerry OS 10 at Developer Conference Asia in December  due to a ruling by a US  District Judge which prevents RIM from using the BBX brand. There were lots of rumors about the BlackBerry OS 10 devices such as BlackBerry London. They were also news that these devices might come with high resolution display, BES and better specs similar to the BlackBerry PlayBook and not look like the BlackBerry Bold. Motorola DEFY MINI rugged Android phone announced

Motorola has announced Motorola DEFY MINI dustproof and water-resistant phone powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has 3.2-inch touchscreen Corning GorillaGlass display, 600MHz processor, 3MP rear-facing camera with flash, VGA front-facing camera for video chat. It also comes with Motorola’s MotoSwitch user interface that learns who you talk to and which apps you use and keeps all of that information. Sony Ericsson launches barometric sensor app for Xperia active

Sony Ericsson has launched a barometric sensor app for the Xperia active and also a new code example so that developers can access this sensor in apps by accessing it through the Android sensor API. This app would let the Xperia Active users measure altitude differences and vertical speed. They already provided instructions and codes on how to create a simple app that could read data from the pressure sensor. Vodafone issues warning about unsolicited international calls


Vodafone customers have been receiving missed calls from unknown international numbers (looks like +22455104324) for the past few days. Vodafone has issued a warning note to ignore such calls and not call back on those numbers. Some have also reported that people are being charged Rs.45 per minute if they call back to such numbers. INQ Cloud Q that was expected to launch late 2011 has been cancelled according to a report from Electricpig. INQ launched their first Android phone iNQ Cloud Touch last year via Carphone Warehouse in UK. The INQ Cloud Q that was supposed to come with 2.6-inch touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard and Android 2.2 that was showcased at Mobile World Congress last February.
