ZUK, Lenovo-backed startup introduced ZUK Z1 smartphone in China last week. At the launch the company said that the ZUK Z1 runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with ZUI on top. Today the company has officially announced that it has partnered with Cyanogen for the international version of the ZUK Z1, which will run on the latest Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop).
BlackBerry teased a dual-curved slider smartphone with a large touch screen display at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. The Slider got codenamed Venice back in June and was rumored to come with Android OS. A render of the smartphone running Android Lollipop surfaced in July. It packs a 5-inch HD 2.5D cured glass display with 2mm narrow bezel, is powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with Swipe’s own Freedom OS. It was announced at the Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event last week and packs a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display that is curved on both the sides, is powered by a Octa-Core ( Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5GHz) Exynos 7420 processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). Meizu has announced that it has partnered with Snapdeal to sell its flagship MX5 smartphone in India. It had partnered with Amazon.in to sell its m1 note and the m2 note smartphones in the country. The MX5 has mBack touch-sensitive home button that offers different functions based on press, similar to the m2 note. It also has a mTouch 2.0 fingerprint sensor on the home button, comes with 4G connectivity with support for LTE bands for India. LG has introduced its new Music Flow P5 (NP5550) and SoundPop 360 (NP7860) portable Bluetooth speakers ahead of IFA. Both these have multi-point connectivity so that you can connect up to three Bluetooth devices at the same time and allows users to simultaneously control the devices and share music. These also have TV Sound Sync feature that allows either speaker to be connected to a Bluetooth-compatible TV and enjoy separated surround sound at home. LG introduced Music Flow P7 (NP7550) Bluetooth speaker earlier this year in Korea.

Misfit has partnered with Speedo to launch Speedo Shine activity, swim, and sleep tracker. It is targeted at swimmers and will track a swimmer’s lap count at industry-leading accuracy for all stroke types using proprietary lap counting algorithms embedded in the device’s firmware track, said the company. It is just 8.6mm thick weighs just 9.4 grams.

Google has expanded its Android One program to Africa. It has partnered with hardware manufacturer Infinix to launch Infinix Hot 2 Android One smartphone in 6 African countries – Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco and Nigeria. Android One was launched in India first and got expanded to Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Philippines, Turkey, Myanmar, Pakistan and Thailand.
