Sony Xperia Z3: Camera Highlights

sony-xperia-z3-camera-highlights copy

Sony introduced the Xperia Z3 and the Z3 compact recently, at the IFA event in Berlin. The obvious upgrades to the Z2 and the Z1 compact featured a slightly newer design and subtle changes to the hardware. One of the clear USPs of the Z3 is, of course, the camera. Since the Z1, Sony’s hardware for the camera has almost been consistent, but a lot of changes in software have not only added features, but made the experience much better. Another great USP of the Z3 and other Xperia devices is the ability to protect itself from water and dust. Couple these two and you get something that other flagships are not capable of.

Lenovo Vibe Z Multi Window demo

lenovo-vibe-z-photo-gallery-5d-1

Ever since phablets launched, there has been a push for scaling and an increase in the information density on those screens, irrespective of resolution. There has been a push to adopt the, initially clunky, Multi Window system that allowed an user to have two different apps, or more recently, two different instances of the same app. all on the same screen. It made sense for some tasks such as using the calculator and having your expense notes on the same screen, or a voice recorder and a notes page for quick typing of notes on the same screen. It all makes sense if you specifically perform those tasks, and they work great. Other manufacturers have been giving it a go and Lenovo too has followed suit with its own implementation on its flagship smartphone, the Vibe Z. Here is a video demo of it –

Lenovo Vibe Z Camera Review

lenovo-vibe-z-photo-gallery-5d-5

The Vibe Z is the Lenovo’s flagship device which is all set to launch in India soon. It is an improved variant of the previous flagship, the K900, in many ways. Sporting improved internals, we were pretty happy to see that Lenovo has stuck to the same camera and lens unit as the K900. A 13 megapixel Sony sensor with the fastest f1.8 lens still has a lot of untapped potential, so we tested it on the road, while in travel to see how it performed in actual use – capturing moments from a trip. Being the only camera at hand, how does it hold up in various conditions? Does it capture all the moments well? Lets go through our Lenovo Vibe Z camera samples for a quick analysis.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom Hands On-14

The Galaxy Camera was the first smart camera to be powered by the Android OS but this year, Samsung have taken a different route to introducing smart cameras with the launch of the Galaxy NX with interchangeable lenses and the Galaxy S4 Zoom. As the name implies, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is the camera equivalent of the Galaxy S4 but it does have some great benefits that will appeal to the hardcore camera users. The S4 Zoom is the first smartphone to come with 10X Optical Zoom and also features a 16MP CMOS sensor with Xenon Flash. Yes you read right – the Galaxy S4 Zoom is a smartphone with an excellent camera. Sony Xperia T Review

Having left the name Sony Ericsson behind it, Sony’s revitalised mobile division is wasting no time in pumping out as many top-tier handsets as possible. The Xperia S has only been on the market for a few months and already it’s getting usurped by the Xperia T – a handset which comes pre-loaded with Ice Cream Sandwich, NFC capabilities and a massive 4.6-inch TFT screen.

The other talking point is contained within the device itself in the shape of a Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, backed by 1GB of RAM. Sony is insisting this puts the Xperia T on a level playing field with its quad-core rivals, like the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3, but is this merely empty marketing hype? Let’s find out in the FoneArena review below. Continue reading “Sony Xperia T Review”

HTC One V Review

No it is not fair to call HTC One V, a sibling of HTC One X. Look wise they are very different. One look at the picture of the phone (see pics) and you’ll agree – HTC One V belongs more to the HTC Hero clan. It is far- far away from the beauty of One X. But why would HTC launch a phone that looks so old, with such a fabulous and new ‘One’ collection? HTC One V is the least priced phone to offer the latest version of Android 4.0, and HTC’s new sense – version 4.0. Continue reading “HTC One V Review”
