Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Review

The Redmi Note 4 from Xiaomi was unveiled a good 10 months after the announcement of the Redmi Note 3. On paper, it seems to have quite a similar spec list compared to the Redmi Note 3 and seems to offer a package with few improvements. However, as history has shown us, specifications only tell a part of the story and we embark on this review to take a look and see whether or not it is the same case with the Note 4.

Samsung rolls out February security update for its flagship smartphones

Samsung seems to be trying their best to keep their phones up to date and to remove the bad reputation of releasing slow updates. They have now released the February security patch for their flagship products just a few weeks after the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow began rolling out for some phones.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 reportedly receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update

In November, a roadmap for Samsung’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow update had surfaced and it revealed that the Note5 and S6 edge+ would be getting the update sometime in December. One T-Mobile Note5 user even got the update to 6.0 accidentally but both the phones haven’t received the official release yet. However, it seems that Samsung is ready with the update for the Note 4 and they have already begun rolling out the update across some devices.

Samsung Android 6.0 roadmap surfaces – Note5 and S6 Edge+ to get Marshmallow in December

A software update roadmap for Samsung devices has just appeared online and it lists out 2 phases of updates for phones to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Samsung Galaxy Note5 and S6 edge+ will be the first to get it as they are scheduled for an update in December 2015 itself.

Has the S Pen become more useful on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4?

Back in 2011, Samsung had launched the original Galaxy Note, a large screen device that brought the stylus back into vogue. Initially used as a substitute for the finger in old touchscreens, the stylus, also known as the S-Pen, became a value add for Samsung’s new experiment. Even though the positioning of the Note has slightly changed, the stylus has stuck to its place and evolved along with the device, now in its fourth iteration. Has it become more useful, this generation? Let’s find out.

People used to be dismissive of the concept in 2011 when the original released, but since then, all the flagships have gradually increased screen sizes, with the latest iPhone sporting a 5.5 inch screen and a Nexus sporting a 6 inch screen. Yes, times have changed, and so has the Note.

Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Gear VR at the IFA 2014, in Berlin yesterday. The Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition is designed to work specifically with the Note 4 to give the users a virtual reality experience on their mobile. Samsung partnered Oculus Rift to create the virtual reality headset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to be coming with a flurry of new features

According to SamMobile, Samsung is planning to cram even more software features into its upcoming flagship phablet – Galaxy Note 4. Samsung was the first company to foray into the 5inch+ display size category successfully and it happened because of the Galaxy Note. Samsung’s Galaxy Note series has been one of the main reasons for its dominance over the Android market. Samsung Galaxy Note series devices come with latest specifications, but that doesn’t make it special.
