LG started rolling out the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for their flagship LG G2 smartphone in Korea recently. The company has announced that it would roll out the Android 4.4 update in UK starting from mid-March 2014. The KitKat update for the G2 would bring battery-saving location mode, speed improvements for 17% percent faster performance compared to Jelly Bean, Google Cloud Print and lots more new features. Apple unveiled the Retina iPad mini along with the iPad Air at an event last month. The iPad Air went on sale in range of countries on November 1st, but the launch date of the new iPad mini was unknown, now the Apple has started selling the Retina iPad mini from the Apple online stores in range of countries. The new iPad mini has similar specifications as the iPad Air, except for the display and battery. It has a 7.9 inch Retina Display with 2048×1536 resolution, new A7 64 bit processor and runs on the latest iOS 7. ARCHOS showed off the 10.1 XS 2 with a Keyboard dock at the IFA 2013 in Berlin back in September, now the company has announced the launch date and the price of the tablet for the UK market. It has a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Cortex A9 processor with Mali 400 MP4 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. It has a 2-megapixel rear and front-facing cameras. It also comes with a keyboard dock that also doubles up as a protective cover and also acts a stand for the tablet, as you can see in the image below. It also has front facing stereo speakers. The first Windows Phone phablet, the Nokia Lumia 1520, could launch in the UK this month, less than two weeks after its announcement. According to Carphone Warehouse’s Coming Soon page, the UK retailer will launch the Full HD Lumia 1520 by the end of October and if accurate, this could be the first time Nokia has bought a handset to market within a fortnight of announcing it.
The Lumia 1520 is the first Windows Phone device to feature a 6 inch screen, Full HD resolution and a superfast quad-core processor. The 6 inch 1080p display offers 367 pixels per inch and the 2.2GHz quad-core processor is accompanied by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and Adreno 330 GPU. The Lumia 1520 comes with Nokia’s imaging prowess as the 20MP camera offers ZEISS Optics, PureView oversampling technology, Optical Image Stabilisation and a dual-LED flash. Google has just announced that it has dropped the price of the Nexus 4 by 25%. The 8GB version is now available at a price of 199 US$ while the 16GB will cost you 249 US$.
O2 UK have updated their coming soon page to show they’ll be stocking the Nokia Lumia 1020 in Yellow from next month. The Lumia 1020 will also be available in Black from O2 and will run on their 4G network, which launches on August 29.Another piece of related news is that O2 UK might be carrying a 64GB version of the Lumia 1020 too in addition to the usual 32GB which is currently on sale in the US.

I am here in London , United Kingdom for the Nokia Lumia event where the handset maker announced the latest addition to its Lumia line up of Windows Phones. I got some hands on time with Lumia 925 and here are my first impressions. The Lumia 925 might be the best Windows Phone device to be announced till now. It is also one of the most well made phones we have had a chance to play with in the recent times like the HTC One or iPhone 5. Nokia decided to use an aluminum frame for the 925 and the phone has a premium feel to it because of this. The back is not made of metal but uses plastic, polycarbonate material. The main highlight of the Lumia 925 is the Camera with supposedly best-in class low light camera performance. Watch the hands-on video below

You might be aware that Nokia is hosting an event in London this week on May 14 where the Finnish handset market is expected to announce a new Lumia phone. We have been hearing a lot of rumours about the phone code-named “Catwalk” in the last few weeks. Nokia might finally make this phone official and call it the Lumia 925. The company has been teasing the new phone in a commercial aired on British television earlier today. The phone in the video looks a lot like the one spotted in the Catwalk leaks. This device certainly must pack some impressive camera features as Nokia decided to use the words “more than your eyes can see” in the teaser. I am right now sitting at an Airport in Chennai waiting to board my flight to London to cover the Nokia event.

The previous major Lumia launch happened at MWC in Barcelona where the company launched the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 which are already available in India.
