LG started rolling out the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for their flagship LG G2 smartphone in Korea recently. The company has announced that it would roll out the Android 4.4 update in UK starting from mid-March 2014. The KitKat update for the G2 would bring battery-saving location mode, speed improvements for 17% percent faster performance compared to Jelly Bean, Google Cloud Print and lots more new features.

LG has posted a video on the LG UK YouTube channel, that shows the phone’s performance after the KitKat update, compared to the Jelly Bean update.

The LG G Pro 2, G2 Mini and even the LG Series III smartphone that would be showcased at the MWC 2014 next week runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Even though LG lags behind when it comes to rolling out software updates, it is good to see even entry-level and mid-range smartphones running on Android 4.4 out of the box.

Since the roll out begins in a few weeks in UK, the KitKat update is expected to gradually roll out to other countries, including India soon.
