Airtel has launched its 4G LTE trails in Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam, after launching 4G trails Mumbai and Chennai last week. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam become second and third cities in the country to get Airtel’s FDD-LTE service, after Chennai. Airtel currently offers TDD-LTE services in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Amritsar. After earlier reports, Airtel has officially launched its 4G LTE trails in Chennai. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. Chennai becomes the first city in the country to get the Airtel’s FDD-LTE service. It currently offers TDD-LTE services in Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Amritsar. NTT Docomo has announced that it will launch its LTE-Advanced service in Japan next month that would offer download speed of up to 225Mbps and upload speed of up to 50Mbps. It uses carrier aggregation technology that would allow the operator achieve its ultra-high speed download speed, which will be further accelerated to a maximum 300Mbps towards the end of the next fiscal year ending in March 2016.
