Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), in partnership with Nokia, announced that it has successfully conducted 5G trial in rural area in Gandhinagar in Gujarat using 3.5GHz spectrum band allocated by the Government for 5G trials. (Gujarat). Vi said that in its trial, it achieved peak 5G speed of 3.7 Gbps with very low latency on the mmWave spectrum band. After receiving approval from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to begin 5G trials in India last month, Airtel has begun rolling out their mid-band 5G trial network in Gurgaon’s Cyber Hub. The test is being conducted on the 3500 MHz band and is utilizing 5G networking gear from Ericsson.
