Xiaomi’s Redmi brand announced the Redmi K30 5G and 4G versions at an event in China earlier this month. Even though 4G version of the phone went on sale China from December 12th, the company said that the Redmi K30 5G will go on sale from January 2020. Today it has confirmed that the first sale of the phone will happen starting from January 7th. Even though this might be the first phone to be announced with Snapdragon 765G, the OPPO Reno3 Pro 5G which was introduced last week will be the first Snapdragon 765G-powered phone that will be available in China from tomorrow, December 31st. Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just announced the Redmi K30 5G and 4G versions at an event in China, as it had promised. It packs a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 120Hz LCD screen with 4.38mm, dual-punch-hole screen with 91% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to 4.25mm ultra-narrow bottom frame. The K30 5G is the world’s first phone to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 765G with support for built-in 5G stand alone and non-stand alone (SA/NSA) sub-6GHz networks. The Redmi K30 4G is powered by Snapdragon 730G instead of Snapdragon 765G and lacks 5G support. Xiaomi already confirmed that its K30 smartphone with dual punch-hole front cameras and support for 5G stand alone and non-stand alone (SA/NSA) sub-6GHz networks will be introduced in December. Now the live image of the phone has surfaced showing 6.66-inch (1080 x 2400 pixels) Full HD+ display with 120Hz high refresh rate. Update: November 19, 2019 — At the Xiaomi Developers Conference was held in Beijing yesterday, CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the K30 will be introduced in China next month. Earlier rumors said that it will be powered by Snapdragon 735 (Snapdragon 7250)

Several companies have started rolling out 5G smartphones especially in China. Last week Vivo iQOO Pro 5G was announced, Xiaomi is expected to introduce Mi 9S with 5G support next month, next-gen Vivo NEX will also support 5G.
