vivo X Fold5 specs surface, could get a 6000mAh battery


Speciations of the vivo X Fold5, the company’s next foldable phone, has surfaced. vivo introduced the X Fold3 and the X Fold3 Pro models in China, but only the Pro model was launched globally, including India. However, there won’t be a Pro model this year, according to tipster Yogesh Brar.

 Display and SoC

The phone is said to retain the 8.03-inch foldable 2K+ 120Hz AMOLED display, and a 6.53-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED outer display, and also retain the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC that was present in the Fold3 Pro model.

Battery

This is said to get a slightly bigger 6000mAh battery, which will be one of the biggest batteries on a foldable phone. The phone is said to get a 90W wired charging and 30W wireless charging support. Earlier rumours revealed a 6365mAh battery for the phone.

Camera

The phone is said to get a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP autofocus ultra-wide camera a 50MP Sony IMX882 3x periscope telephoto camera. This is a change from the 64MP telephoto camera in the predecessor. The phone is said to retain the 32MP front camera on the inside and outside.

Design

The phone will be just 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.33mm when folded, much thinner than the predecessor which is 5.2mm when unfolded and 11.2mm when folded.

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, the fibreglass version will weigh under 219g compared to the X Fold3 Pro which weighs 236g. The X Fold3 weighs 219g.

vivo has been using an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the older models, but this is said to get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It could retain the IPX8 ratings, and 3-stage Alert Slider from the X Fold3 Pro, and come in single 16GB + 512GB model.

Launch date?

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, the phone is expected to launch in China in Q3 2025, which is before September that will give the company about one and half years gap between a refresh.
