Indian tablet market soars by 9% in Q2, 2014: Report

The Indian tablet market grew by 9% to 0.86 million units in the quarter ended June, according to a latest report from market researcher International Data Corp. (IDC). IDC said that market indicated early signs of recovery in Q2 2014 after taking a sharp hit in the past couple of quarters.

Nvidia unveiled Shield Tablet, the company first Tegra K1 powered tablet as the successor of Tegra Note last month. We brought you the unboxing of the tablet earlier this month, here we have its benchmarks. It is powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with ARM Cortex A15 cores clocked at 2.22 GHz and 192-core Kepler GPU.  It has a 8-inch (1920×1200 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. Today the online retailer has posted a teaser image of the tablet with Digiflip Pro and Intel brandings on the back. The image has the wordings Packed with features. Powered by intelligence. This clearly shows that it would be powered by Intel processor and come with new features that were not present in its Digiflip Pro XT 712 tablet. Flipkart sends invites for Intel-powered tablet launch on August 27

Flipkart has just sent us an invite for a tablet launch in partnership with Intel. The invite reads What’s in red, grey, pearl white and blue? It will be powered by an Intel processor. It is clear that it’s going to be a tablet, looking from the invite. It has an earpiece on the top, so it is likely to come with voice calling capabilities. HTC-built Nexus Tablet passes WiFi Certification?

HTC device codenamed flounder appeared twice in May. Rumors about the HTC-made Nexus tablet condemned Volantis surfaced in June. Recently a HTC tablet running Android L has been spotted at Wi-Fi Alliance website that is believed to be the upcoming Nexus tablet. According to the certification, it has Broadcom BCM4345 WiFi Chip with dual-band WiFi. It also shows 3 separate model numbers: 0P8210000, 0P8220000, and 0P823000.
