Joiku, a Finland-based company has launched the JoikuShare Pro for Android. The JoikuShare app for Android was released last month and the Pro account was available through in-app purchase. Now the standalone JoikuShare Pro app is available for download from the Google Play Store. Jet Airways releases Windows Phone app in partnership with Nokia

Jet Airways has partnered with Nokia to launched the official app for Windows Phone. This app would let you book tickets, check flight status, manage their JetPrivilege account, avail special offers and more directly from your device. It also offers flight updates and notifications with the ability to pin the booked ticket to the home screen for easy access. Even though they have partnered with Nokia, the app is not exclusive to Lumia devices and is available for all the Windows Phone devices. Amazon has updated their Appstore application for Android to version 5.0 that brings support for nearly 200 countries including India, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa and more. This would now let you download apps from the app store by logging in to the US store using your Indian account. You can also download the free app of the day. Opera 14 for Android out of beta, brings new UI, Off-Road mode and more

Opera 14 for Android is finally out of beta and is available from the Google Play. Opera released the version 14 beta back in March that brought the new WebKit engine replacing Opera’s own Presto engine. The new Opera browser is based on Chromium 26 engine but the Chromium/Blink-based browser technology is not available yet. Opera says that it would be available in future as they plan to stay closely in sync with the Chromium development cycle with frequent updates. Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has been on a spree today with announcement of a stunning 1.1 billion USD Tumblr acquisition. Next version of Android to be Bluetooth Smart ready

We just heard some rumours about the next version of Android, which indicate a June 10th launch date, but the Bluetooth Special Interest group is already excited about it. The main reason why they are excited is that Google has announced at their I/O developers conference that the next version of Android will be Bluetooth Smart ready, for devices with a dual mode Bluetooth chip. Bluetooth smart was a name given to the latest features of Bluetooth 4.0 which includes drastically reduced power consumption using a low pulsing method instead of a continuous stream. This enables a lot of useful sensory applications like heart rate monitors and various accessories that can connect with your phone and not have a major effect on the battery.

Android at 75% marketshare, Windows Phone finally ahead of BlackBerry – IDC

Previously, a month ago, IDC released statistics for the whole mobile phone market, which highlighted the smartphones overtaking feature phones for the first time ever in the first quarter of 2013. Now, they have revealed the marketshare of smarphone platforms, which makes for a very interesting analysis altogether. Android has kept on soaring with a 79.5% change YoY, and a massive 75% marketshare, a number even the yesteryear Symbian failed to achieve with its massive presence. The total shipments of 162.1 million devices is in line with what Google announced last night, of the 900 million activations till date.

Apple, while at a distant second place with just 17.3% marketshare rules the smartphone market together with Android, taking over 92.3% of the whole smartphone market. The surprising addition and change here is from Windows Phone, which has finally leapfrogged BlackBerry with a measly 3.2% marketshare and a whopping 133.3% growth change YoY.

Google has updated the Google Search app that brings new Google Now features including Reminders that lets you save things to remember later. You can also pick a time or place to trigger those reminders, so they pop up at just the right time. You can also create some of these reminders with just your voice. This update also brings new cards that alerts you about upcoming books, music albums, tv shows and video games you may like. It also shows real time public transit updates in select cities. This app brings photos, emoji, video calls, history and more. This app replaces the original Google Talk app on Android and it is a separate app for iPhone and iPad.
