ARM unveils Cortex A53 and A57 64-bit Processors for Smartphones and Tablets

ARM has announced Cortex A53 and A57 in the Cortex A50 series based on ARMv8 architecture. These energy-efficient processors with 64-bit processing technology are also fully compatible with the extensive ARM 32-bit ARMv7 ecosystem. These processors would offer better performance compared to the existing ones and would offer new features ranging from gesture control, augmented reality, mobile gaming, web 2.0 and more. HTC 8X and 8S Windows Phone 8 devices launching in India next week

HTC has announced on the their Facebook page that they would launch the Windows Phone 8 devices in India next week.  HTC announced the 8X and 8S Windows Phone 8 devices in September, and the phones were in coming soon list in HTC India page since then. These devices are powered by a dual-core processor Snapdragon S4 processor. Nokia would also launch their Windows Phone 8 devices, Lumia 920 and 820 in India in November. Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite Tablet now available in India for Rs. 13700


Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite that was announced back is August is now available in India from online retailer Flipkart. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) IPS multi-touch display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and 3G support with voice calling, SMS and MMS. It has a 3.2 Megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera for video calling.  It also has 1080p HD video playback at 30 frames per second. Zync Z5 Dual SIM phone with 5-inch display, Android 4.0 now available for Rs. 9490

Zync has entered into the smartphone segment with the Zync Cloud Z5 Dual SIM Android Smartphone / Phablet. It has a 5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) Capacitive Touch Screen and is powered by a 1GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). This would compete with the other budget 5-inch Dual SIM Smartphones such as iBall Andi 5c and the latest Micromax A110. The company launched the Z-900 their first 7-inch tablet running Android 4.0 back in March, and has launched several tablets since then. Microsoft announces new Skype app for Windows Phone 8

Microsoft has unveiled the new Skype app for Windows Phone 8. The first Skype app for Windows Phone was launched back in February, and the app was launched in Windows Phone Marketplace in April. The new app has been completely built from the ground up for better integration with the Windows Phone 8 and would have a completely new UI. Microsoft unveils Windows Phone 8

Microsoft has officially unveiled the Windows Phone 8 at an event in San Francisco as they announced earlier this month. They announced the Windows Phone 8 back in June, but at the yesterday’s launch event they demoed several features including new features such as Kid’s Corner, Rooms in People’s Hub and automatic image uploads from the phone’s camera. Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 launching in India in November

Nokia just announced today that it has begun shipping its first Windows Phone 8 devices in select markets to operators and retail outlets and it will go on sale in UK and France later this week.Russia and Germany would be getting the Lumia 920 and 820 after that.  Several other countries including India will see the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 being launched sometime in November ( no exact date or price yet). The Lumia 920 packs an awesome camera with optical image stabilization and a pure motion hd+ display apart and runs on Windows Phone 8. LG and Google announce the Nexus 4

Google had canceled the New York Android event due to Hurricane Sandy but the hurricane could not stop them from officially announcing the devices.Google and LG have finally officially unveiled the next Nexus phone which is from LG this time round -Nexus 4. The handset has been leaked multiple times and was reportedly lost in in a bar. The Nexus 4 looks  very similar to the previous Nexus devices from the front but very different in the back.The Nexus 4 was jointly designed by LG and Google. Huawei Honor 2 with 4.5-inch HD display, 1.4GHz quad-core processor announced

Huawei has announced the Honor 2, the successor of Honor. It has a 4.5-inch (1280 × 720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core K3V2 processor from Huawei.  It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Nokia Lumia 822 announced, coming exclusively to Verizon this fall

Nokia has finally announced the Lumia 822, their new Windows Phone 8 device exclusive for Verizon Wireless. It surfaced earlier this month as Nokia Atlas and has similar features as the 820 including a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) AMOLED  ClearBlack display, 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and Windows Phone 8 OS. Unlike the 820, this phone has a curved design. It would support Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Byond Mi-book Mi3 Tablet with 7-inch display, Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 6090

Byond Tech has launched Mi-book Mi3, their new Android tablet in the Mi-book range . Most of the features are similar to the Mi1 tablet including a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS and 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor. It has a 2MP camera at the back along with a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. It has 3D video and gaming support and comes with free 3D goggles in the box similar to the Mi1.
