New iPad and iPad Mini reportedly go on sale starting October 30th or 31st

It’s now public knowledge that Apple is organizing an event on October 22 for a refresh of the iPad and the iPad mini along with a refresh for the Macbook Pros too, but reports are now coming in that the availability of these new products will be very close to launch. A report from french site MacG pegs the availability dates for the new iPads, including the new retina mini for October 30th or 31st. This is in line with most Apple launches, and going with the track record of MacG we assume this data is correct.

eyeSight and ARM join hands to bring better gesture support

ARM and eyeSight have gotten together to bring better gesture support for ARM Mali GPU based devices. As a result of the partnership between the two companies, eyeSight’s gesture technology will come incorporated into Mali T600 GPUs. The improved efficiency of gesture computation will help improve face and emotion detection, long distance finger tracking, and even 3D motion recognition (such as finger pointing for selection).

Apple iPhone 5c India Prices confirmed , starts from Rs.41900

Apple just confirmed the official prices for the iPhone 5c in India which is expected to go on sale on November 1st in the country. Shockingly the iPhone 5c is going to cost a lot and start from Rs.41900 including taxes for the 16GB version. The 32GB version of the iPhone 5c will cost Rs.53500.  Just for the context the iPhone 5c costs USD 549 in the US for an unlocked unit.That translates to around Rs.36000 approx including taxes. Xiaomi sells 100,000 Mi 3s in less than 90 seconds

Xiaomi, one of leading manufacturers of Android smartphones in China, have just announced that they have sold 100,000 Xiaomi Mi3 in less than 90 seconds of its launch. This news comes courtesy of Xiamoi Mobile’s Twitter account where they have mentioned that 100000 Mi3 devices have been sold in an exact time of 1 minute and 26 seconds. This clearly indicates a very high demand for the product.

Airtel to offer Apple iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S in India

India’s leading mobile operator Bharti Airtel just announced that it would offer the Apple iPhone 5S and 5C on the Airtel network starting from November 1st. This news comes after Apple announced that it was indeed launching the new iPhone in India on November 1st. Reliance Communications also announced that it going to offer the new iPhones on its network. Historically Apple has launched the iPhone on Airtel and Vodafone and Aircel made it to the list recently. Reliance is the new addition this year.

Facebook acquires mobile data optimization company Onavo

Facebook has announced that they have acquired Onavo, and Israel-based company popular for its mobile utility apps and mobile market intelligence service. The company has released Data Savings and Data Count apps for both Android and iPhone. The Data Savings app compresses the incoming data and the Data Count app that  breaks down your 3G/4G/LTE data usage in detail. The company launched the Onavo Protect, a free for iOS devices recently and introduced Onavo Insights targeted at mobile app creators. HTC has finally announced the most rumored One Max.  It come with a 5.9 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with the new HTC Sense 5.5 UI that brings updated HTC BlinkFeed that bring customisable topic categories, Instagram and Google+ integration.
